@Wildfire: LOL yes. British history is one of my favourite rabbit holes to disappear down. The story is set in the present day though, but I need to know the history for worldbuilding etc :)

@0v7: I'm glad your tablet is ok!!

Slamming the door... *shakes head*... he does.not.get.it.at.all.and.I.don't.know.why!!! It's frustrating. The boy has woken me up from a deep slumber with his leaving the house...

@sunny: I understand - and yeah, the more you understand, the better you can build that world for your readers!

We can only go back so far without delving in to completely different ideologies, ethnicities, etc., etc. It's a very different beast! (and I have lived in some of our oldest cities! After being in Rome, it's just... absolutely no comparison to the sheer depth of history that Europe has to offer... and again, at least not according to our current (euro-centric) understanding)

@Wildfire: Maybe ask him to take his time when shutting the door? I get that he might be in a hurry, but Also, it takes about 3-5 seconds to close a door quietly.

@Wildfire: You're right. It's a shame too, because I'm sure the history was so rich and interesting, but it all got lost somewhere along the way :( Native American history is another rabbithole I like going down, especially as oral traditions can keep stories alive for millennia, which is so impressive.

@0v7: that's a good suggestion! We have been focussed more on his holding the handle and closing the door inevitable l intentionally...

@sunny: exactly! Bit it is a different thing than the "usual"idea of history
