@xvz: back when i was able to read normal novels (i dont have very high patience these days), i read lotr 3x. i would suggest to both read and watch them. watching it visually helps you understand what the description of stuff in the book. while in the novel, it helps understand the vivid detail of the world that didnt need to explain in the movie.
and also get wikia to ref since were are children of da covid year 2020 xD

i've never read it .... i think i watched the first movie in hs one time but i don't remember anything except legolas was pretty Haha
@Priestess of Pie: LOTR v/ Harry Potter? You have a good point - it's only 3-4 books, depending on what you count, but LOTR has elven and some kind of weird tangents to try following, whereas HP, although more books is pretty straightforward ...

birds are so cute .... i wish i knew more about birds / bird calls etc! i tried to learn some of the basic ones but i just don't understand how ppl know so many lol
i can recognize a sparrow and a starling though .... that's something right
Yeah Kairu I just go full Kirby.
And yeah LOTR has a lot of lore around it that you won't learn unless you dive deep into Tolkien's other books. It's not necessary to enjoy the main story, but you know how nerds are.

@xvz: cockatiels are recommended for birb beginner owners. theyre generally kind birbs. there are some other level tier birbs that require experience like conure (?, im not sure the right name) that has tendency to hold a grudge.

I will add one more thing to learning about Tolkienverse. I learned almost all the obscure lore I know from reading wikipedia and just following those links XD The other mainstream knowledge came from the movies and games ;p

@Priestess of Pie: i wasnt able to cos the time i wanted to extend my tolkien collection, i moved to new zealand. generally i dont have lotr or tolkien book copies anymore.
while my reading rate is an all time low of 0 xD
