Kai just crossed his arms over his chest.

"...that is a good question." he said.

"I... I don't know." he admitted. "I get the feeling that we'll find out while either on this ship, or shortly after we land on the other continent." he told them, pausing for a moment afterwards.

".......I hope." he added.

"That... yeah, I really hope that's the case." he repeated.

"I'd rather not be wandering blindly."

Kai thought for a moment, before giving his room to her. From what she knew of the layout, and what she explored, he was on the same level as her, but on the opposite end, effectively.

"A basic room." he shrugged.

"I was able to afford it by finding lost bits and pieces of treasure and coins at the bottom of the ocean." he told her further.

"So it wasn't too hard." he went on.

"And I didn't want anything too fancy." he continued.

"You know it's not my style." he chuckled.

"Pretty much." Kai agreed.

"Let's just try and enjoy the trip." he suggested.

"..." he was then silent, and looked around a little, focusing on the one girl from before.

"By the way..." he said to Callie. "She's trying to go around saying she's you." he told her. "And she has people believing her." he went on.

"I was fooled at first, as she DOES look like you, but... yeah, she's an imposter." he said further.

"I'm angry, but... well... the more I think on it, the more this is actually GOOD for you." he continued.

"I don't think she has ANY idea the bullseye she's painted on herself."

"You can try, but even if you succeed, you'll have to save it again." Kai muttered. "Can't save it, can't fix it." he went on. "I just think it's horrible that she's smearing your name like that." he then said.

"She's acting high and mighty, she's acting like she deserves everything handed to her, just... rgh." he growled.

"But... if it takes the attention AWAY from you... I suppose it's fine to let her have her pretend time." he sighed.

"We should probably just steer clear of her altogether." he then reasoned.

"...not that that'll be hard. She seems to want to keep a pretty wide perimetre of empty space around her."

Kai shook his head slightly, and sighed.

"Fair." he said.

"I... yeah, knowing what I know now, that's understandable." he admitted.

"But yes, I was trying to figure out what the coral was going on." he muttered. "I was confused, angry, sad, concerned... the whole lot of bad emotions." he admitted quietly.

"It's a massive relief now to know she's not you, and that you're doing relatively all right." he continued. "...apparent memory issues aside." he then added.

"Regardless, what have you been doing since you landed here in Adaminia again?" he asked.

Kai looked to be stunned for a moment.

"...what?" he asked.

"The... forest guardian?" he asked her.

"I... that..." he stammered. "I see..." he mumbled.

"I'm sure there's a valid reason as to WHY you killed such a guardian?" he asked her.

"Because... I'm pretty sure you're not the type to do something like that unprovoked, amnesia or not."

Kai paused when he heard that.

"...ah." he said. "That answers a few questions." he admitted with a small laugh.

"Wood Elf, I assume?" he asked.

Callie nodded in response.

"Makes sense." Kai then said, crossing his arms over his chest and looking around once more.

"...hm." he mumbled.

"Looks like it might rain soon." he commented, looking at the darker clouds in the sky. "Hope it's not too heavy."

Kai nodded in response.

"Sure thing." he replied.

"Better than hanging around out here all day, glaring at your doppelganger." he muttered.

Some time had passed, and Kai had met Adym and Karivyn. The 5 of them had gotten decently close, and had all decided that traveling together when they reached the other continent was probably the best course of action.

At the moment, Adym and Sara were in the latter's room, while Kai and Callie were strolling on deck... where they saw Karivyn standing at one of the railings.

And he was looking right up at the sky intently.

Kai followed as well, but didn't say anything, opting to let the centaur speak.

"...look up." Karivyn told them. "What do you see?" he asked.

They both looked up, and... all they saw was the sky, the sun, and some clouds.

"Nothing." Kai responded. "...wait..." he mumbled.

"Precisely." Karivyn said.

"Where are all the birds?" he asked. "The sky should be filled with them. Or, at least, there should be a few dozen about." he told them.

Karivyn narrowed his eyes.

"...indeed." he said.

"Something has spooked them, and they are staying away." he commented.

"...but what?" Kai asked.

"That is impossible to know right now." Karivyn responded. "But it is probably an aerial predator of sorts." he reasoned.

"Something we need to worry about?" Kai inquired.

"Possibly."
