No idea why I was that tired actually. Now tonight is going to suck balls. I have to close with the bad coworker, and then open and close with him again tomorrow.
Oh right - I guess today is Saturday, isn't it?... making tomorrow Sunday...so that makes sense. Still, I can see where that would seem like a long time, especially given how much you adore this particular coworker! XD
It sounds like they want clear evidence that he's not doing his job. I hope the roles are well-defined, so there's no question about was it you or him that left X undone. What happens if it's screaming customers that he "leaves undone" (unattended)??
I don't suppose they told you that he was being watched or put on probation or anything (it's probably not permitted to discuss employees' status with non-managerial others)?
Yeah. Well, for what it's worth, I think you did the right thing (I know you did) and it sounds like they've given him a warning and are watching for some concrete evidence that he's messing up (i.e. telling you not to clean up after him), so I guess you'll find out soon enough...
