"Yeah..." he said.

"Yeah, you're right." he agreed.

"I can't risk it. And I can't risk Miki seeing me like this. Or... like I was." he continued, getting to his feet.

"...thank you." he then told her.

"I'm pretty sure you just saved me from going down a very deep and depressing rabbit hole." he said.

"Very probably." Mira agreed with a nod.

"So let's get you taken care of." Sje added.

She was silent as she sat on the couch, staring at the lit candle ahead of her. Thinking, debating. There were make up smears on her face, as she'd obviously been crying. Her scars were rather apparent because of it, the makeup hitting places there.

"..." She didn't say anything, couldn't. She didn't do anything either, just stayed there watching the dancing flame.

As the flame on the candle continued to dance and sway, her shadow was thrown off to the side, moving and quivering slightly... until it seemed to grow eyes of its own, and another shadow emerged from within it.

"Hey!" it said, growing small demon horns.

"Hey! You!" it called out to her.

"The hell y'doing!?" it asked.

"Come on! Snap outta it, hey?" it asked further, as it fluttered about the wall, moving of its own accord.

"Stop crying at the candle, girlie!"

She was silent, ignoring the living shadow.

"... I release you." She said after a few seconds.

"Our contract is forfeit. I release you from the bonds." She added, her voice quiet, but sure.

She sounded like she'd put a lot of thought into this.

"Woah, wait, what!?" the shadow exclaimed in response.

"Hold on, there no need to-" he started to say, before his own shadowed form seemed to tear itself away from her own shadow, and he became his own separate entity once more.

"The hell!?" he asked.

"What was THAT for!?" he asked her.

"Yeah, I know I'm an ass, but it's never caused you to do THIS crap!" he commented, sounding more worried now.

"What's the deal?" he asked further, before looking at her shadow and narrowing his eyes slightly.

"I don't want you around anymore." Was the last thing she said.

"Come on, kid." Jazgoth responded.

"I know this is a new thing." he said. "There's no need to-" he continued, but she interrupted.

"GO." she said in a pained and stern voice, indicating that she was done with this conversation.

"..." Jazgoth was silent for a moment, realising that she'd called him by his full name, and not the nickname she'd given him early on in their partnership.

"Oh yeah?" he asked.

"That what you want, is it?" he asked her.

"Fine. I'll go." he told her, looking around, and then heading off in a specific direction. He needed to find someone to speak to about this.

She was silent as he left, before letting out a soft, quiet, sob.

It was beter this way.

If she was alone, no one would hurt with what she was going to do. No one could get in the way either.

Jazgoth made his way through the house, up to the attic, where he found the young man she loved... Levi... sitting and meditating. It was something that he'd taken up recently, to help him with mindfulness and such.

"Hey!" the shadow shouted, causing Levi to jolt to being in 'reality'.

"What the...!?" he exclaimed, before seeing the shadow there.

"Jaz?" he addressed the shadow. "What are...?" he started to ask further, but Jaz interrupted.

"Just go down and see that girl. I get the feeling she's gonna do some stupid crap, and soon." he told him.

"...all right..." Levi said, getting up and making his way down from the attic, as Jaz shuddered.

"Hate that presence." he muttered.

Levi, meanwhile, made his way down to the ground floor, looking around. He saw where the light of the candle was coming from, and headed towards it, wondering what Jaz had been talking about.

He found the one hw as looking for, sitting on the floor surrounded by cndles. At first, it didn't look like there was anything wrong.

And then he noticed where the flame he saw was.

It wasn't on the candles, they were all dead, without any sort of light.

The flame was on her. Her pant leg and foot specifically. And she was just sitting there, letting it happen.

"OH MY GOD!" Levi exclaimed.

He quickly rushed to where one of their fire extinguishers was, grabbed it, and returned to where she was, to see that the flames were spreading a lot faster than he would have suspected.

"Holy crap!" he yelled, turning on the light and aiming the extinguisher at her.

He pulled the pin and squeezed the trigger, causing the chemical foam to spray out over her foot and leg, smothering and extinguishing the flames.

"Ally, what the hell are you doing!?" he asked the girl.

She was silent as he did what he did, not sure what it was that she was going to do next. Fire wasn't going to work, obviously, yet i twas the most fitting fo rher.

She had, after all, been meant to burn in the past.

"Rectifying an error form the past." She answered, tears in her voice.

"Ally, you've never believed this." he told her.

"You know as well as I do that the past beliefs are stupid in that regard. You've told me. I've agreed with you." he continued.

"You don't deserve to burn. You never have." he went on.

"Why now?" he asked her as he set the extinguisher down and got closer.

"Ally, why are you thinking like this now?"

Ally didn't say anything, couldn't. She couldn't vocalise any of it, but there was an immense degree of pain within her, and there was no way she could hope to actually say anything. No matter what she tried to do to distract herself, her mind kept going back to it, causing more pain to compound upon it.

"Sorry... I.. I'll go somewhere I'm not going to destroy your house." She said quietly as she went to get to her feet. He was quick and was right there with her, holding onto her in a way that wasn't tight, but also wasn't too loose. He wanted to make sure that she wasn't alone, and this was the best way he could for the moment, he was sure.

She tried to get his hands off of her, went to leave, ignoring the pain in her foot, but he didn't let her go as he tried to process what she'd said.

"...." he was silent as her words mulled over in his brain, before his eyes showed that of pain and sadness.

"No..." he said quietly.

"No, that's not... no..." he said further.

He then wrapped his arms around her and held her in a hug, holding her close.

"Don't... don't do that..." he said.

"I love you, Ally... don't do this..." he pleaded, as Jaz hovered around on the wall.

'...all right, whatever you are...' he thought.

'Let's see how sensitive you are to those nightmares that he's connected to...'

Ally didn't return the embrace, didn't seem to really be caring. She didn't push him away, however.

"Just... just leave me be..." She said quietly, pain in her voice. She didn't know what was going on, wasn't properly processing who this was, exactly, to her, and didn't seem to care about much for the moment.

That pit she'd found herself in was too much for her to bear for the moment.

While there, as Jaz was watching, he saw the shadows, barely, on her, but they didn't seem to be really reacting.

"No, I don't want you to hurt yourself!" Levi cried.

"Damn it." Jaz cursed.

"What?" Levi asked him.

"There's... SOMETHING... attached to her." Jaz responded. "I don't know WHAT it is, but I'm willing to bet it's causing her to be like this." he said further.

"What do we do!?" Levi asked.

"Hell if -I- know, I don't even know what it is!" Jaz exclaimed in response.

"...." Levi was silent, and looked at Ally again.

"Whatever this is, Ally, just fight it... please..." he said to her.

Ally didn't say anything before just violently shoving Levi away from her.

"You... you'll ..."She started, meeting his gaze her teal eyes seeming a bit darker than he could remember. There were tears, and a lot of pain, there too.

"You'll be far better without me dragging you down." She said quietly before heading for the door, a bit of a limp to her steps due to the burned foot.

Levi didn't know what to do here. She was acting a way she never had before... she was scaring him. She had attempted something horrible, and was pushing him away. He was sure that if she was left alone, she would do it again. And potentially succeed.

He started to panic, now.

He then rushed to the couch and grabbed a baseball bat that they kept under there for... reasons. Mostly self-defense in an emergency, and gripped it in his hands.

He looked over towards Ally, and quickly ran towards her.

"...forgive me!" he shouted as tears streamed down his own cheeks, before swinging the bat against the back of her head, his intention to render her unconscious.

His aim rang mostly true. As he said what he did, she turned to look at him, but the bat did hit her. It hit her solidly, as well, in the side of the head, and a bit on the face.

Sure enough, that impact was enough to cause her to hit the floor, unconscious.

The question though, was what was he going to do now?
