Interesting. I'd say finding a lazy way out of something is very within my character.
In a fantasy world it would be very likely the number would have been lower then. :vanora_xd: Most of the time the Dungeon Master won't even tell you what number you have to beat, he just tells you to roll and then tells you if you succeed or fail. It adds to the mystery and omnipotence of the Dungeon Master.
Interesting to know. A group of my friends do want to start like a d&d night.
Well its important to choose a good DM, if you don't have a choice then you make do with what you got :vanora_xd: Some DMs go on complete power trips and its not enjoyable to have your OC in the hands of a powerdrunk maniac. Good DMs are storytellers and referees to make sure everyone plays by the rules and has a good time.
Dun know if any of them would be good DMs, lol a lot of us are going in as newbies.
Ah well then, there is gonna be alot of reading involved :vanora_xd: The literature that you need to even just get started is quite abit. I wish you all good luck and happy fun times.
I would suggest watching critical role on youtube to see what a smooth running game looks like. Even though its not very smooth, its probably as smooth as it can get for an improv game.
You can start with campaign 2 episode 1. In the first campaign the production value wasn't very high so abit of technical difficulties in the start but it started getting better with better cameras and microphones and such. You might miss out on some inside jokes but not too many.

Yeah I was given some stuff to read, and there is a lot of it.
Yeah that seems like a better way of going about it.
^w^ thank you for the offer, once we get it going I'll definitely keep it in mind.
I must warn you its a huge time sink :vanora_xd: More than any other game I have ever played. But also, probably my favorite. The biggest problem I have had so far is real life being a huge pain in the ass and messing with scheduling. Syncing the schedules of 5 people or more is quite an achievement.
Tell me about it. This group and I have had several outings, and it was a massive pain in the ass to get everyone's schedules just right.
Damn real life getting in the way lol.
It's like my Minecraft server, I have to be on for it to open for folks. And sometimes things come up, or whatever. Now I feel like >w> people have abandoned me.

It does sound like a lot of fun.
