"Without a doubt." he replied.
He then paused, and sighed.
"Name's Jake." he told her with a smile.
"I'm the main security guard here." he said, extending a hand.
"And yeah, you can guess why I work HERE." he added with a small chuckle.

Well then. Hello Jake." Erica said with a light smile.
"I'm Erica." She added.
"And yeah. It's easy enough to get an idea." She added with a light laugh.
Just as they shook hands, Zeke approached.
"Yo." he said.
"I assume you know what to do." Jake replied, sitting back.
"Indeed." Zeke said in response, as he turned towards Erica.
"Come with me." he told her.
Jake just brought his newspaper back up, and continued reading.
"Yo." he said.
"I assume you know what to do." Jake replied, sitting back.
"Indeed." Zeke said in response, as he turned towards Erica.
"Come with me." he told her.
Jake just brought his newspaper back up, and continued reading.
Erica looked over to Jake before nodding.
"Lead the way." She said with a nod.
After they'd been walking for a few minutes, she just chuckled.
"I saw why you said to say what you did. It's kinda obvious with that wingspan."
"Mmhmm." Zeke responded.
"People here have codes for when we recruit someone." he told her.
"It helps stop the unsavouries from getting in." he said.
"And they're all... well... appropriate, shall we say." he went on.
"And I apologize for our first meeting." he then said to her.
"I acted... poorly."

Erica quirked an eyebrow.
"Poorly?" She asked.
"Trust me, I've dealt with a lot worse, on a more regular basis, from people who don't even know me, or know why they are like that." She added with a shrug.
"So no harm done."
"Well, thank you." Zeke replied.
"That is appreciated." he told her.
"And thanks for coming." he went on.
"Your talents will be very useful and appreciated here, as well as yourself." he said further.
"And this is a great place to work." he assured her.
"The facilities here are top-notch."
"That is appreciated." he told her.

"What makes you so sure I'd even be any good here?" Erica asked.
"Because... seriously. How? Sure, I'm an interrogator, but... so what?" She then asked as they turned a corner.
"Well, we deal with a lot of dangerous and high-profile criminals and such." Zeke responded.
"...high-profile in mage circles and such, that is." he clarified.
"And information is better than gold when it comes to some of the more... disturbed... individuals." he told her.
"...innocent people have died because we couldn't get information out of people in time." he then admitted, sadness and guilt in his tone.
"And, for now, there will be immense repercussions if I bring down the vengeance on them that my blood yells at me to do so." he growled further.
"Regardless, someone like you can save a lot of lives." he finished.

"That makes sense... pretty much the same thing I used to do." Erica commented.
"But what maks you so sure I can do anything? With mages, no less." She added.
"sure, I was able to do that with some, but I didn't encounter many mages in my work with Interpol."
"Your methods would be the most effective in the Unit." Zeke responded.
"Once you got full control of it." he said.
"See... my Eye of Judgement can also see a person's potential. Being judged isn't always a bad thing... but it usually is, when it comes to me, I admit..." he then mumbled.
"Regardless, I could see that you have some real potential to be a top agent here in the Unit." he continued.
"And I'm willing to bet that you'd like to become more in tune with your arm." he went on.
"Sharp can make that happen, I guarantee it." he told her.
"No matter what problem a person here has, he can find someone or something to help you. And I mean that. He has a 100% success rate in finding what people need and/or want." he assured her.
"And trust me... when you consider the number of people he's helped... that number is staggeringly amazing." he finished.
"Once you got full control of it." he said.

Erica sighed.
"So you're just a snoop that won't let people keep their secrets. That's certainly good to know." She commented after a few seconds.
"Got any warnings for me regarding Sharp?" She then asked after a moment.
"Since honestly, it might just be a good idea to know." She then said
"Mm." Zeke responded to her first statement.
"And no." he replied.
"He's all right." he told her.
"He might seem a bit... off-putting... but that's just the initial meeting." he said. "He seems gruff and unapproachable, but... that fades quickly." he said.
"And he's not human, but DON'T ask him what he is." he then warned her.
"That is a VERY touchy subject."
"And no." he replied.

Erica paused a moment when Zeke said what he did about asking what he was.
"I... what?" She asked, almost seeming as if she was surprised about not being allowed to ask.
"Why the hell would I be asking something like that?" She asked him after a few seconds.
"Seriously. That's his business, and unless it pertains to a case I need to do, why the fuck would I be nosy like that?"
Zeke just smirked.
"Good." he responded.
"Keep that attitude." he told her.
"And yeah, that's been an issue." he informed her further.
"A lot of people ask him, due to his seemingly endless power and influence and such." he went on.
"Even if they're just joking around." he continued.
"Regardless, good." he repeated.
"You're already off to a good start."
"Good." he responded.
"Keep that attitude." he told her.

"I do some things right." erica commented with a chuckle.
"And if I don't want people being nosy in my business, I should grant them the same respect. Although of course, you didn't even give me a chance to do that." she then said with a shrug.
"But the past is the past. Just please don't do it again."
Zeke just sighed.
"I realize I will not live this down." he commented.
"We're almost there." he told her.
"Just wait with the secretary until you're called in." he said further.
"Beyond that, and what I said earlier, things should go fine." he finished, as they approached the door to Sharp's office.
"Right." he said.
"Here's where we part ways."
"I realize I will not live this down." he commented.

Erica nodded.
"Duly noted." She commented.
"Which is good to know." She added.
"Anyhow, thank you. And I will see you at a later date, I'm sure."
"More than likely." Zeke replied.
"Farewell." he bid her, before heading off, waving to her as he did.
She watched him go, before going through the door, where she was greeted by a friendly woman around the age of 35 or so.
"Welcome." she said.
"Are you Erica?" she asked.
"Farewell." he bid her, before heading off, waving to her as he did.

"Hi, and yes. I am." Erica said with a nod.
"Erica Calder. ?I know I'm a bit late, but I'm reasonably sure that I'm expected." She added with a light chuckle.
