"I suppose so." Sharp replied.
"I'll get him here right now." he told her.
He then contacted his secretary, told her to summon Azazel, and they then waited.
About 2 minutes later, there was a knock on the door, and Azazel poked his head in.
"You wanted to see me?" he asked.
"Erica here did, actually." Sharp replied.

Erica waved when Azazel had made his way in. Over the past few days, she and him had been talking a fair bit. They may not have been close friends, but they were definitely getting to the point where saying they were friends in the first place wouldn't be exactly inaccurate.
"Hey Azzy." She said.
"And yeah. You're the only person I can think of that could possibly get a sample of the mana from my arm for Sharp."
"Hey Erica." Azzy responded.
"And... you want me to get a sample of your mana?" he asked.
"We're creating a transport device for her." Sharp replied. "And she wants an additional sample for herself." he added.
"Huh. Okay then." Azzy replied.
"Then I suppose we ought to get to the lab." he told her.

Erica nodded before getting to her feet and looking to Sharp.
"Is there anything else for the moment?" She asked him, her voice curious. She didn't want to leave if there was more to be addressed for the moment, after all.
"Nope, that's all." Sharp replied.
"It's a little premature, but welcome to the team." he told her as they shook hands.
"The next time we meet, it will be as colleagues." he said further.
"Now go on." he finished.
With that, Azzy and Erica left, and the former smiled.
"So. You're gonna work here, huh?" he asked.

As they were walking down the hall, Erica nodded.
"Yeah. Figured it'd be better to have a reliable constant job instead of one that can't decide if I'm actually employed by them or not." she commented with a laugh.
"So turns out that I'm sticking around here for awhile. Although working from home, realy. I'm not moving quite yet."
"Makes sense." Azzy responded.
"Glad to hear it." he told her, and she could tell how happy he was.
"So..." he then muttered.
"Question." he said.
"Why do you want the extra sample?" he asked her.
"Not many people ask for such a thing when they're having it drawn from them." he commented further.

"Because I know someone who would be interested in studying my mana, since it's so rare." Erica commetned.
"And... I'm interested to know if it's something that affects others while not on me." She then added.
"That's all." She then said with a light shrug.
"Fair enough." Azzy replied, as they reached the lab.
Once they were there, a pair of special vials were given to them, and they were placed in an isolation chamber, so that her mana wouldn't drive the others nuts.
"All right." he said.
"Feel free to reveal your mark whenever you feel like it." he told her.
He then sighed, and took off his ring, revealing what he really looked like, and nodded.
"Trust me, it'll help." he said.

"Hey, you do you." Erica commented before sighing lightly and taking her glove off.
"Seems to come from my hand." She stated. "Like it starts there, sooooo." She trailed off with a shrug as she held her hand out at him.
"Let's get this show on the road."
Azazel looked at her hand, and looked at the tentacle-like markings on it.
"Right." he said.
"You may feel some discomfort, but bear with it please." he told her.
He then made sure her palm was face-up, before he placed his hand atop it. When he did, she almost felt like a part of her was being torn from inside her.
And she felt like that for close to 30 seconds, before the feeling subsided, and Azazel was holding a small blob of black energy in his palm.
"...whew..." he exhaled.
"This is heavy mana." he commented.
"Right." he said.

Erica looked away when Azazel started doing what it was that he was doing. She could barely breathe for that breif bit, as well.
"That was utter hell." She told him simply afterwards.
"That was hell. Just... fuuuck. I do not want to do that again."
"Well, thankfully, you won't have to." Azazel responded.
He then took one of the vials, and seemed to concentrate hard... very hard. It looked like it was taking all his strength and willpower, but he managed to separate the blob into 2, and put them in the vials.
"And done." he said.
"Sorry to have put you through that." he apologized.
"But mana that is demonic in nature... really needs a demon to be extracted." he said.
"Any other way, and it tends to... go haywire..."

Erica sighed.
"That makes complete sense." She said.
"You ok?" She asked. "That looked like it took a lot of effort."
"I'm fine." Azazel responded.
"It just didn't want to cooperate at first." he told her.
"Was a bit difficult to wrangle, but I managed it." he said, handing her the vials.
"Here you go." he said.
"One sample for whatever it is they'll make up for you, and one for personal use." he told her.
"What kinda transport thing do you want them to make up, anyway?" he then asked.
"It just didn't want to cooperate at first." he told her.

"I haven't put any thought into that, admittedly." Erica answered as she accepted the vials.
"Probably a ... what the hell are options for that, anyway?" She then asked with a light laugh. "Because that'll obviously play a factor."
"Sky's the limit." Azazel replied.
"Could be a piece of jewellery, a coin, anything." he went on.
"Most people try and make it inconspicuous, though." he then said.
"Kinda like my ring." he continued, grabbing the piece.
"Granted, that's to glamour me up, but the point is, you'd never think this little thing causes such a drastic change in me." he reasoned, putting it back on and reverting back to how he had been.
"Physically speaking, anyway."

After Azazel said his piece, Erica nodded.
"A bracelet then." She added.
"If only just because it's the only kind of jewqelery I wear... although a new glove would be nice." She then said as she looked to the black glove that covered her offending hand, and how it was starting to fray.
"A glove?" Azazel asked.
"Yeah, they can do that, actually." he told her.
"It's rare someone asked for an article of clothing, mostly because clothing is something that can be easily misplaced, like a hat or something, or gets changed every day, like a shirt or whatever." he reasoned.
"But for you? Yeah... they could do that." he assured her.
"Tell them when we step out of here." he told her.

Erica nodded.
"Yeah, that makes sense." She commented.
