The figure was silent before touching another plant, this time at the roots. Luke was able to watch the decay travel up from the ground. It was extreme, this one didn't go to ash, but went to some jelly like form of decay. It was advanced decay, and very obviously so.

"Woah!" he exclaimed.
"What the HELL!?" he asked.
"No. No, no, no. That is NOT natural!" he commented, before kneeling down close.
"...no, this shouldn't have happened." he said, backing further away.
"What's doing this?" he wondered, as he concentrated on the natural energy around him, to sense for anomalies.

He tried to find something, anything, for an explanation, but nothing that he was able to pick up on was helping. He couldn't figure it out. He couldn't find anything.
There was nothing in the area tha thadn't been there before, that he could detect.
Which was quite in the favour of the one that was there.
Before he could panic or continue to wonder more though, he felt a slice down his back, from a blade that was far too sharp.

He almost collapsed to the ground, but stopped, managing to anchor his feet.
He then gritted his teeth, and couldn't keep it in any longer.

"LUCAS!" Someone screamed as she rushed outside to see her brother on his front, blood pooling on his back, and spreading out.
'The fuck happened to you!?" She demanded an answer, knowing he wouldn't, knowing he couldn't, answer her. She didn't say anything more before they were both enshrouded with leaves, appearing in the ER of the local hospital. She had to get her brother checked in, after all.

He felt himself wanting to just go out and drain everyone he met. Not that it would help Samantha, but it would make him feel better.
He then turned to the nearest wall and smashed it with his hand, cracking the wall slightly, and splitting his knuckles a little.
"....whatever." he snarled, ignoring the pain.
"Screw it! Going to find her." he spat, deciding to go and look for the woman he loved.
