Forums General Chit-Chat What puts you to sleep?

Donator — Fluffywuff Posted 6 years ago ( 2018/10/13 21:16:50 )
Is there something that puts you to sleep every time?

Perhaps it's a sound, like the sound of a purring cat, or trains going by distantly. Perhaps it's an object, like a favorite soft blanket. Or perhaps it's a person? Or the sound of soft music playing?

What do you use to help you sleep?

since I can't, lol

The pure exhaustion from being awake for too long
Reading a really boring textbook
Studying

Being warm? I always feel sleepy after a hot shower or eating hot food.
I'll never fall asleep watching TV or playing video games or looking at my phone though. They stimulate my brain too much.
Although I'm capable of falling asleep in any kind of lighting with any amount of noise.

@Hachi: Being all snuggly warm is the best. :3

That’s a useful skill! I have a hard time falling asleep in general, since almost any noise will wake me up. How do you doooo it? XD;;

When I have a hard time falling asleep, which is pretty rare, I watch these youtube videos about this guy and his ant colonies XD

@Kozi: I used to have a hard time falling asleep when I was a kid. I'd lie awake in bed for hours. Nowadays I'm likely to knock out in under 3 minutes.
I honestly think it's because I had a period where I slept very little. So I was always exhausted and would instantly knock out as soon as I hopped into bed. I like to think that my body has just somehow adjusted to maximize the amount of sleep I get in the amount of time that I have haha
I don't recommend sleep-depriving yourself tho that's not a good idea oops

this is what puts me to sleep everytime, a dark cool room (my bedroom) with a fan on high. and either my earbuds in my ears with music going (or) watching a movie, sometimes I have to be reading something, and either way I always end up crashing. if the tv is too loud in my room I can't fall asleep it has to be on a low volume.

Hello! Tia is currently speaking:

Hmm,, I can't really sleep without something playing in the background. Usually it's a podcast, an album or sometimes an audiobook.

...And have a great day!

Being warm definitely helps me sleep~ I prefer mostly quiet ambient noises and little to no light too.

We\'ll carry on

There are a few things that work for me:
Being cold and then warming up under a blanket
Heavy rain and wind
The voice of Chris Martin

@Rallaa: ~snort~ Well... I'm sure there are lots of people who would pronounce it like that. XDD Technically I think the person i'm named after pronounces it wrong, anyway. So. XDD;; Blame him.

Edit: Although, thinking about it, it would make sense to use that pronunciation in a thread about snuggling in to sleep. XDD;;

@Hazer: Sounds about right. Only instead of rain, I need a low fan on.

Here in the darkness I know myself

Uh, recently it’s been pure emotional and physical exhaustion.
Other times it’s 10mg melatonin, and rain is a plus.
Can\'t break free until I let it go.
Let me go..
