"Hm?" Doctor Calder responded.

"Kiczys?" he asked.

"Indeed." he said.

"That IS her last name via birth." he commented, before pausing.

"...if I recall, it's YOUR'S as well." he then said.

"I assume you two to be related?" he asked.

The doctor shook his head.

"Family is family." he said.

"And family look out for each other." he told her.

"Anyway, we're still working on her." he said. "But she IS stabilizing." he said further.

"She's not out of the woods YET, but it's looking promising." he went on.

"I wish I had more definitive good news, but I needed to step out anyway." he sighed.

"Bad? No." the doctor responded.

"More... extensive." he said.

"I needed to step away due to needing 5 minutes to let my hands rest." he explained.

"They're in there keeping her stable, while other doctors tend to her." he continued.

"That's all." he said.

"Though she DID suffer some severe damage in places." he then admitted.

"Multiple third-degree burns, and a few broken bones." the doctor replied.

"The burns being the worst." he went on.

"In some dangerous areas as well, but... we're working on it." he said further.

He was silent as he looked back at the doors, and sighed.

"I'm going to get back in there and finish things." he told Casey.

"If you see her father before I'm out, tell me what I told you." he said to her further.

With that, he went back into the room, and... some time later... Ash and Lindsay came back.

"Any word yet?" Lindsay asked Casey.

"....." Lindsay was silent, before sighing.

"At least it's improvement." he said.

"That's true." Ash agreed.

"Oh, yes." Lindsay then said further, looking at Casey.

"Do you know Kalin?" he asked.

"You share a remarkable resemblance to her, and Ash has told me your last name is Kiczys." he commented.

"It came up in conversation." Ash shrugged.

"So, are you two related?" Lindsay inquired.

"................." Lindsay was silent as he heard this.

"So... twin brothers that had been separated early in life ended up adopting twin sisters that had ended up being separated early in life." he commented.

"Pretty much." Ash chuckled.

"Fate is very strange." Lindsay then said.

"Fate is hokum and bunk." Ash commented quickly.

"You forge your own destiny."

Lindsay was silent for a moment.

"Well... um... let's see it was a convalescence of volatile mana." he said.

"....eh?" Ash muttered.

Lindsay then sighed.

"Long and short of it, I was helping someone with something, and Kalin was along as well. The mana that was being used was delicate and violent, but we were sure that it would be fine." he said.

"...and then suddenly Kalin's wind mana decided to flare up..." he mumbled.

"...........oh." Ash responded.

"So it was a freak accident." he said.

"With some negligence on MY behalf." Lindsay lamented.

"Yes, there IS that." Ash reiterated.

"Thanfully..." Lindsay said quietly.

Some more time passed, before the doctor emerged again, which caused Lindsay to stand up immediately.

"She'll be fine." the doctor said preemptively.

"It'll be like nothing happened." he added, which caused Lindsay to flop back down in relief.

The doctor shrugged as well.

"We do what we can." he said.

"This is a massive relief." Lindsay commented.

"Yup." Ash agreed.

"It'll be a bit before she wakes up, though." the doctor then warned.

"Odds are she won't wake up until tomorrow afternoon."

Lindsay looked confused.

"Hm?" he asked.

"Do you not want to be here when your sister wakes up?" he asked.

"I'm sure she'd love to see you again." he said further. "I mean, you've been apart for quite some time, I'm assuming." he went on.
