"Oh... I see." Lindsay replied.

"I gave you my number." Ash said to him.

"You really should come by and talk to Mom." he said further.

"Yeah... yeah, I should." Lindsay agreed.

"Do you want me to tell her you were here, at least?" he then asked Casey.

"Here." Ash replied, tossing her the keys.

"I'll be following soon." he told her.

"Say Hi to Mom for me if she's there." he went on.

"And let her know what's going on." he continued.

"...actually, don't." he then corrected himself.

"We'll let Lindsay surprise her with a visit." he smirked.

"She can't teleport?" Lindsay asked, as they both waved back.

"Hospital." Ash replied simply.

".........................right." Lindsay admitted sheepishly.

And after a time, Kalin groggily came to consciousness, and found herself in a hospital room, in a hospital bed.

With the doctor checking over her charts.

"Well, good morning." he greeted her.

"Or, afternoon, as the case is now." he then added.

"Sadly, no." the doctor replied with a chuckle.

"As for your other question, about 24 hours." he told her.

"You were in critical condition when you got in here." he said. "But now it's like nothing ever happened." he added with a small smile.

"In terms of looks, anyway." he clarified.

"How are you feeling?" he then asked her.

"Anything feeling off or abnormal?"

"Good, good." the doctor replied.

"And it seems that all your tests have come back negative, so you'll be all right." he told her.

"As is stands, you have a mild concussion, and you'll be healing some broken bones for a few weeks." he then said. "But otherwise, you're just fine." he confirmed.

"But I would like to keep you overnight, at least. Just to make sure." he then added.

"Feeling up for a visitor, by chance?" he asked.

The doctor laughed lightly in response.

"Indeed." he said.

"He's been waiting here the entire time." he told her.

"I'll go get him." he finished.

With that, he left. And about 45 seconds later, Lindsay came in.

"My, my." he said.

"You're certainly looking well." he commented.

"Homework?" Lindsay asked.

"Ah, yes, you were assigned a research project and you wanted to get a lot of that done over break." he remembered.

"Sure." he said.

"I'll bring you whatever you need." he told her.

"There any other work you want to do while here, just the project, or leave that until you're back?" he then asked.

"Indeed you shall." Lindsay agreed.

"Oh, that reminds me." he said.

"Well... all right, yeah, it reminds me of one thing, and I have another thing to say, off-topic." he admitted.

"First, the relevant one." he said further.

"You've been getting mail from a lot of universities." he commented. "Which one are you going to?" he asked her.

"Well, as you said, we can only hope." Lindsay responded.

"And there's still time after all." he assured her.

"Oh, and the other thing." he then said.

"Seems that this was a serendipitous trip to the hospital." he told her.

"Your sister was here recovering as well." he informed her further.

"And, while she left, stating you would not want to see her, she wishes you a speedy recovery, and was happy to hear you're expected to have a full and complete one."

Lindsay decided to remain silent for a moment.

It seemed that Casey had been right. Kalin neither required nor wanted, more information about her sister. And odds are that any further information he gave would be pointless.

So he merely sighed quietly.

"I shall." he told her.

"...I'm so glad you're all right." he then added.
