"Hm." he muttered.

"I see." he said.

"Yeah, sure, you can use my arm." he told him, getting closer.

'Yep, my mind's made up.' he thought.

"How far do you wanna go?" he asked.

He took Ryker's arm.

"As far as i can. I dont mind being carried back" he grinned trying to forget the whole birthday thing.

He began walking slowy, wheeling the ive drip with him.

It was more taxing than he anticipated

"All right then." Ryker replied.

"Sounds like a plan." he said, as they stepped out of the room.

"Just take it easy." he told him.

All the while, he was mentally making plans.

He could see the birthday thing was getting to Eke, and he wanted to change that. And he felt he knew how. He'd get it done later that night, while Eke slept.

"Don't push yourself too much."

He smiled as he walked. He saw nurses smile at him.

"Were the staff worried i wouldnt pull through or something?" he was making his way down the hall.

His legs were burning but he didnt care.

"They were a bit worried, yes." Ryker replied.

"However, I think they're just happy to see you up and about, and all right." he told him.

"After all, you're a cute young boy." he went on.

"Why WOULDN'T it be uplifting to see you all right?" he asked him.

"...relatively speaking." he added with a light chuckle.

His cheeks went dark red.

"I am NOT cute" he said indignantly.

Still...it was nice to have people worry about him.

By the end of the hall his legs were on fire and he was panting holding his chest.

Ryker just laughed at Eke's indignant response, before sighing.

"Right, that's it." he said.

"I can tell you've had your limit." he told him.

"You have two options now." he said further.

"I can either carry you back to your room right now, or you can sit in a wheelchair, and I can wheel you about so you can get some more changes of scenery."

He was a little surprised Ryker was offering to push him around.

"Im not ready to go back" He found a place to sit.

He was breathing heavily and his hands were shaking.

"I think i need water too" he smiled despite how tired he felt. It was nice to get out of that room.

Ryker sighed again.

"One second." he said.

He promptly went to a nearby vending machine, used one of the coins in his pocket, and came back with a bottle of cold water for Eke, opening it as he did so.

"Here." he said, handing it to him.

"And yeah, I'll bet." he went on.

"But you are in NOOOO condition to be doing so."

"Cant you just...push me outside" he grinned cheekily before downing half the bottle of water.

"So...wheelchair?" he pointed to one with an iv hook.

"I dont want to go back to that room..."

Ryker sighed again, before going and getting the wheelchair, pushing it over. He then helped Eke into it, and looked out the window.

"Well... weather seems nice." he said.

"I suppose it's all right for you to at least stay on the grounds." he muttered.

"It is." a nurse replied as she passed by.

"Well then." Ryker said, looking back at Eke.

"But be warned, as soon as the weather starts to get worse, we're going back inside." he told him. "And we can't be outside forever. You need bed-rest."

"Aw your no fun" he smiled.

He did enjoy being pushed around and the warm sun was nice.

"Ryker...thank you for sticking by me. you could have left me long ago"

He smiled at him. He felt so much more complete having known him.

"But then I wouldn't be able to look at myself in a mirror ever again." he muttered.

"....." he was then silent, before sighing, smiling, and placing a hand atop Eke's head.

"And yeah." he said.

"I will keep you safe." he told him.

He smiled. "So you admit it. Im just as much your brother and you are mine now"

He grinned cheekily and relaxed.

After an hour, the clouds darkened and thunder rumbled.

He frowned looking to the sky. He wanted to feel the rain.

Ryker sighed as he looked to the sky.

"You know our deal." he said.

"I know you'd like to stay out here in the rain, but not when you're so fresh out of surgery." he told him.

"Could lead to nasty complications." he said further, as he started to take him back to the hospital.

As he did, Eke felt a drop or two on his arms.

"Oh wow, it's picking up quickly." Ryker commented.

He suddenly got up feeling the rain. He smiled not caring how tired he was.

The rain felt refreshing. He just wanted to feel it just a little while.

"Sorry but...i need this." hesuddenly let out his wings out.

He was looking like he was better. maybe not physically, but his spirits were very lifted.

"..........." Ryker was silent as Eke did what he did and said what he said, before sighing quietly.

"If you say so." he replied.

He then looked skyward, and looked at the clouds.

"Looks like it's gonna be a massive thunderstorm." he commented.

"Like the clouds are just gonna rip open and let loose all the water and electricity they got."

He smiled and flapped his wings a few times.

He finally sat down shivering gently.

"Im ready to go inside. Sorry its just...be a long time since i felt...that good" he smiled at ryker, water dripping from his hair,

".........." Ryker was silent as Eke said what he did, before wheeling him inside.

When he did, he was immediately chastised by one of the nurses.

"Be more careful next time, you don't want him to catch cold." she said to Ryker.

"...yes'm." Ryker muttered.

"Come on, let's get you back to the room." he told Eke.

Eke felt bad now. He felt ryker was mad at him.

Eke was silent as they got back to the room and he changed and dried off.

Once back in bed he stared at the cieling pulling a blanekt close to him.
