Ryker sat down in the chair, and sighed.

"You weren't even that wet." he said.

"I mean, I can understand them being overly protective and strict, but you weren't out for THAT long, and you barely even got wet." he said further.

"Oh well." he mumbled.

"The important thing is that you got a change of scenery, and won't go stir-crazy." he chuckled lightly.

"So...your not mad at me?" he sat up slowly.

Really it was refreshing. He rarey got to feel rain on his skin.

"Nah." he said.

"I know what it's like to want to be outside." he told him.

"I just didn't want the staff to be jumping down your throat." he admitted with a small sigh.

"Regardless, as long as you don't get sick while you're recovering, I'm cool." he finished, grabbing the pitcher of water and taking a small drink from it.

His big smile came back and he turned to Ryker.

"Youve been acting weird since i woke up" he motioned for some water too.

"So...wanna tell me why youve been acting like ive done something wrong?" he raised an eyebrow.

"I... have I been acting that way?" he asked him.

"I... assure you that's unintentional, and in no way indicative of how I feel..." he went on.

"but its okay" he stretched yawning.

"Its nothing im not used to" he lay back closing his eyes.

"I'm hesitant about touching you because I don't want to potentially hurt you." Ryker told him.

"And no, that's not my saying you're weak, or frail or anything because of your health problems." he then quickly said.

"You're literally fresh out of surgery. With fresh stitches, no less, and you're hooked up to machines." he continued.

"I'm scared because what happens if my chest gem does... something?" he wondered aloud.

"What happens if the wound reopens, and you bleed to death?" he asked further.

"I don't want to hurt you, Eke." he said quietly, leaning forward and grasping at the sides of his head, looking down at the floor as he rested his elbows on his knees.

"...I don't want to hurt you..." he repeated, though his voice was far more quiet now.

Eke looked over and just...got up.

He pulled out the ivs and winced. He pulled out the oxygen tube and took off the finger machine to monitor his heart.

He walked over, still bleeding some and pulled Rykers head up.

"The only time i got hurt was my own doing. You have done nothing but keep me safe."

He then hugged Ryker.

"Im not made of ceramic So what if i had surgery. Im still a dragon. I still heal quick"

Ryker was silent for a moment, before returning the hug.

However, their moment was not to last, as removing himself from what he'd been hooked up to had caused the medical staff to come storming into the room, in a panic.

They then stopped, however, seeing what it was.

"....did you remove that young man from his support?" one asked Ryker.

"Ah..." Ryker stuttered, unsure as to how to answer. But he then sighed. It was better to have HIM get in trouble, than Eke.

"Yeh." he muttered.

"I removed it." he crossed his arms.

"I did it and im not ashamed" he huffed through his nose

The staff just sighed, shaking their heads.

"Uh-huh." one said.

'Sweetie, you need to recover." they told Eke.

"You need to let the machines do their job." they said further.

"You're recovering really quickly, but you still need to take it easy."

He stood there defiantly.

He wanted to leave honestly. He stretched out his wings his tail swishing angrilly.

It looked like he MIGHT just attack them with his tail, which had a sharp talon on the end.

"Eke." Ryker interjected.

"Please." he said.

"All they want is for you to recover." he told him.

"They don't mean to hurt you." he continued, but it was too late.

The staff were officially scared, and were scrambling out of the room in a panic.

He relaxed and grabbed his things.

"I hate hospitals. I hate doctors..." he looked at ryker.

"Im sorry...im sorry ive been acting...not myself..." he sighed

Ryker was silent for a moment, and then sighed.

"Welp, I guess it's time for us to check out." he said.

"Odds are if we stay here, the authorities are gonna get involved." he told him.

He then got up, and stretched out.

"Let's move, and let's move quickly." he suggested.

He nodded and got changed.

"Im sorry this is my fault..." he felt stupid now.

He got his coat and walked out looking to make sure no one was there.

The hallways were empty, as it seemed like staff had taken to hiding, and the other patients had been advised to stay in their rooms, and remain quiet.

"Let's use the emergency exit." Ryker suggested.

"Odds are the police have either already been called, or are about to be." he said. "So if we trigger the emergency alarm, eh." he added with a shrug.

"Come on." he told Eke as he started to quickly make his way down the hall.

"We got a couple flights of stairs to get down."

Eke stopped. "Stairs and me...dont get along..."

He felt like he SHOULD be punished for scaring the staff.

Tears welled in his eyes as a flood of emotions hit him. Shame for scaring people, stupidity for threatening someone and worst, the shame for the anger he displayed.

Anger wasnt like him. None of that was like him.

Ryker looked back at Eke.

"Come on!" he called to him.

"I'll carry you down the stairs, we just need to get moving." he said.

"We can talk about this later if you feel the need to, but we need to get our asses outta here." he continued.

"And we need to find a place to disappear to." he went on.

"Find somewhere to lay low until we can skip town."

He listened, then grabbed Ryker's wrist.

He quickly moved to the basement.

He began tapping with his tail and tried to push on a bookshelf.
