"Huh?" Ryker muttered, as he watched what Eke was doing.

"Uh.... Eke?" he asked.

"What's... what are you doing?" he asked him.

"Seriously, I'm a bit on the confused side." he admitted further.

He then looked around, wondering what Eke's plan was.

"Tunnel" he grunted "Behind this"

He strained and failed miserably.

He fell on his rear and sighed.

Ryker made his way to what Eke was trying to move, and grabbed it.

As he struggled to pull it, the power within him flowed into his arms, expanding his muscles as they bulged out considerably... and then the bookcase moved.

"Ngh!" he grunted as he pulled at it.

"Let... me know... when it's... good."

He waited before he saw the door.

"Stop!" he tried the door. locked.

He sighed. he didnt have time to try to pick the lock. he heard sirens outside.

What had he done?

Ryker made his way to the door, and sighed again.

"Stand back." he said.

He then grabbed the door, and pulled on IT as well, straining his power-enhanced muscles, until the door came off its hinges, nearly causing him to fall on his back.

"No time to worry about property damage." he said.

"Go in, I'll pull the case back over the opening as we go." he told him.

He went down.

It was impossibly dark, but he had a little magic. He used some fire to light a big stick.

It amde him tired but he pushed forward, listening for the way out.

Ryker blocked the entrance back up with the bookcase, and quickly followed Eke.

"Uh... question." he said.

"How did you know this was here?" he asked him.

"And where are we going?" he asked further.

"Don't get me wrong, away from the authorities is a good thing, but I AM wondering what the destination is."

He shrugged. He turned and tapped his long pointed ears.

"I have big ears. I heard the wind down here" he shrugged feeling tired and wanting to be safe again.

He felt awful about what he did and it made him queasy.

He pointed down a tunnel. "I hear rushing water this way..."

"Rushing water?" Ryker asked.

"That's a good sign." he said, as he started to pick up the pace.

"Come on, then." he told Eke.

"Let's get moving." he said further.

"If we're lucky, we'll be able to rest and eat." he told him.

He nodded. he was quiet as they walked.

His stomach churned with guilt, so he didnt feel like talking.

Wasnt long before they came to an underground river.

"Yes." he replied.

"Question is... which way...?" he muttered, looking back and forth.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Is this flowing TO the outside, FROM the outside, or BOTH?" he wondered aloud.

"Suppose we could just follow the flow and see what happens."

Eke had already started walking.

Eke was being too quiet, too short when he did talk.

The whole thing was eating him inside but..what could he say?

"Yo." he said.

"What's up?" he asked.

"You're really quiet." he said further, pausing for a moment.

"...is it what happened in the hospital room?" he asked him.

"Nothing about that was me..." he sighed

He was so tired now. How long had they been walking?

"I just...want to curl up under a rock..."

"Sorry, no rocks around here." Ryker responded.

"You can curl up next to me if you need to rest." he offered.

"But... what did you mean?" he then asked.

"Nothing about that was you? In what sense?" he asked him.

"Is this a case of your emotions getting the better of you, and you just had an outburst, or do you mean it was literally someone else back there?" he asked further.

"Like MY kinda situation." he then clarified, putting a hand over his chest.

He suddenly sat down in the dark.

"Ive never..." he began to sob hysterically. "Ive never threatened anyone in my entire life"

He hide his face in his hands sobbing.

Ryker squatted down behind Eke, and placed an arm on his shoulder.

"Hey." he said.

"Shit happens." he told him.

"We all have episodes where we do or say something we regret, and wonder what happened." he said further.

"It could have been for a variety of reasons." he went on. "Even something like small things piling on each other without you noticing, and this was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back." he explained.

"I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but that doesn't always mean something's WRONG." he finished.

"How do you always know what to say?" he sniffled.

He hugged ryker laying his head on rykers shoulder.

"Wheres the exit...im so tired..."

Ryker just laughed as Eke asked his question, and returned the hug.

"I was surrounded by people older than me, wiser than me, and had more experiences than me, for most of my life." he told him.

"I guess, after so long, things finally stuck in my mind." he went on.

"And I just say what comes to mind. Sometimes it's the right thing, sometimes I make things worse." he then shrugged.

"As for the exit... hmmmm..." he mumbled, listening intently for a moment.

"The water seems to get louder in that direction." he said, pointing off to the east. "If we go there, we might find the exit."

Ater a moment he was snoring softly.

He was so tired and so emotionally worn out, he had falled asleep against Ryker.
