"Well, that would take the special-ness away from it." he said.

"Things like these should have an occasion attached to them." he told Eke.

"But... yeah, I wish the same, too." he then admitted.

"Feel free to eat as much of it as you want to." he finished.

He finished the slice quickly having forgotten he was pretty hungry.

Ryker chuckled.

"If you can eat the whole thing, go ahead." he told Eke.

"It's YOUR birthday cake." he said. "You should be allowed to eat the entire thing." he reasoned.

"Oh yeah, managed to swipe THIS as well." he then said, grabbing an umbrella he had tied to his back. He opened it up and held it over them, it being large enough to shield them both from the rain that was starting to slip through the tree cover.

"So eat to your heart's content."

"You must be a magician" he grinned and stuck out his tongue

"I've just learned a lot over my life." he told him.

"I guess I'm just on the perceptive side sometimes." he went on.

He then smirked as Eke stuck his tongue out, and gently flicked his nose.

"Just enjoy yourself." he said, sitting beside him.

"Right now, it's all about satisfying your sweet tooth."

He laughed and finished off what he was willing to eat.

He lay down moaning happily.

He closed his eyes but he still smiled. He felt so much better. It didnt matter what he had done in the town.

All that mattered was he was safe and he had Ryker.

Ryker just smirked as Eke laid down.

He sat down close to him, leaning against one of the trees, and made sure his lap was there in case Eke wanted to snuggle into it.

"Just rest." he said.

"You might recover quickly, but you still need time to recover." he reasoned.

"So just relax, and drone out the world."

He looked over.

"I know...i just didnt want to be stuck in a hospital while i did so." he closed his eyes again.

He turned to Ryker, but the movement made him wince. Hard.

His stitches didnt like being pulled in the way he was laying on his side. He lay on h8is back trying to regulate his breathing.

Ryker looked towards where the stitches were, and sighed.

".......hm." he muttered.

"I... damn, I don't know what to do about those stitches." he admitted.

"We might need to seek medical attention in another town or city." he said further.

"...assuming you can make it until then."

He wrapped his tail around rykers leg.

"For now im just gonna sleep." he felt of his chest.

"I dont think i ripped any of them"

"You get some sleep." he told him.

"I'll make sure you're safe while you do so." he assured him further.

He then sighed, and placed a hand on Eke's head, ruffling his hair lightly.

He slept all night. He barely moved.

He smiled in his sleep as if he was having a really good dream.

He woke to birds chriping and the suns morning light.

Ryker, however, was still asleep. He had fallen asleep against the tree, but stirred when Eke got up.

"Ngh, huh?" he muttered.

"Oh, hey." he greeted Eke.

"Good morning." he said.

"Sleep well?" he asked, looking around and seeing that the weather had cleared.

He got up and stretched.

He made this cute stretch noise.

"I slept amazing!" he smiled. he was already packing up.

He slid some breakfast to go into his mouth and brushed his hair.

Ryker raised an eyebrow at the sudden change in Eke's attitude.

"Uh... all right, then." he said, getting up.

"We're headed in that direction, away from town." he told him, gesturing down a well-beaten path.

"Not sure what's in that direction, specifically, but we're headed that way." he went on.

"Weather's good for travelling, too." he added.

He smiled at the sky and was nearly skipping.

The day before had lifted his spirits.

He hummed and walked in the direction Ryker pointed. He held rykers hand.

Ryker just smiled as he saw Eke in brighter spirits that he had been in a while.

It made him feel good.

"Heh, you're chipper." he commented.

"Good." he said.

"You're a lot cuter when you're happy." he told him. "And trust me, that's quite a feat to accomplish." he smirked.

Ryker did his best to hold back the snicker that threatened to emerge from his throat, and then smiled.

"All right, all right." he said.

"Whatever you say." he told Eke.

"Pro-tip, though." he then mumbled, looking back and forth.

"Don't pout and huff like that when you say you're not cute." he whispered, leaning in.

"It makes the statement completely untrue."

He stamped his foot and sighed.

"Im not cute..." he huffed and stomped forward.

He stopped and looked back. "Im a teenager. and a dragon. Dragons are NOT cute" he raised his eyebrows in a judging way then kept going.
