"Fish for tonight, steak for tomorrow!" She grabbed 2 pounds of steak and a pack salmon fillets from the pile that expires sooner to save money. "Grab some tartar sauce for me," she said before walking off to get a bag of mixed veggies. "Anything else you can think of for a side?"

"Uh..." He had to think.m"no sides just dessert" he shrugged. "Big meals make me sleepy." He began to cough a little. "Sorry I'm okay"

"Drink some more water," she instructed, leading them to the icecream isle. "Grab the flavor you want!" She reached in to grab a pint of caramel waffle cone crunch. "Ready to check out?"
"Unfortunately water won't help. I'll be okay" he smiled and grabbed a cake. "All ready!"

In the check out lane, she stared at some candy, having an inward battle about whether she should grab some. "Good afternoon," she greeted the cashier, noticing the scales blending into the edges of his face. His tail twitched in response from behind the counter.
He grabbed several bars of candy and smiled charmingly at the cashier. His smile always worked. "We are a little short on cash~ would you be so kind to give us a bit of discount? I need the candy for a serious health condition~" he bat his eyelashes, which were long and thick. If he could get it for free hed be happy but hed be fine with a discount. The store needed to make money after all.

The other dragon smiled at the two and shrugged. "I mean, I think I could give you my friends discount." He leaned in a bit to whisper with a wink, "We gotta stick together." Soph thanked him thoroughly, a deep red peeking through her caramel skin. She speed home, excited to get out of the heat and eat as soon as possible.
He laughed. "Id say that was a success. you should ask him out~ i think he likes you" he teased. He sat in the car with the ac full blast on his face. He smiled and closed his eyes. "You have any family?"

"You think so?" She blushed again. "If I wasn't leaving this weekend, I think I would." She made a left turn into her apartment's parking lot. "Yeah. My parents stay up north. They were very uncomfortable with me taking this 2 year trip, but I talked them into it." She paused, letting the A/C stay on a bit longer in the car. "Was it just you and your mom?"
"Up north like in...dragon country?" he looked over. when she mentioned his mother his look went sour and he looked away. "No. i had a live in nurse" he crosed his arms and pulled his knees to his chest.

She paled as she shut the car off. "Sorry for... that..." She got out the car and started grabbing grocery bags. "Have you ever been in Dragon Country?" She looked over her shoulder at him, trying to read his expression.
He helped her out taking a small bag. He nodded. "I lived there till like...a few months ago...when i ran away" he chuckled. "dont worry about me really. i just have bad memories from home" he knew that only noble, and elder dragon families live in dragon country for the most part. low borns lived on the edge.

She led him to the apartment door, up one flight of stairs. "So you've been alone since then?" she asked somewhat quietly, unlocking the door. She pushed the door open with her foot and stepped in, putting down bags on the kitchen table. She couldn't imagine being alone for that long at that age. ...Would it be too weird/sudden/weird to ask if he wanted to come?
"I have.it hasnt really been easy with my condition" he chuckled. He followed her in and set the bag down. "You have a nice place" he said looking around. He smiled at her. "You look worried. its fine really"

"Well, you've got A/C for now!" She smiled as she started putting up the groceries that needed to go into the fridge. "Okay," she said a bit uneasy. "Let me know when it's not fine then." She moved to start prepping for dinner, getting the spices for the fish to cook in.
He blinked then laughed. "Will do ms soph" he sat down. "Mind if i watch tv for a bit?" he had grabbed the remote.

She giggled seeing him already grab the remote. "Yeah, knock yourself out." She continued cooking, preheating the oven first. She seasoned the fish just right and put it on the pan to begin searing. She got started on the bag of mixed veggies, rinsing them off and putting them on a baking tray covered in olive oil. Right as she put the veggies in, the fish was ready to go in too. She closed the oven, set a timer, and sat down next to Eke with a satisfied sigh. "So whatcha watching?"
Eke was engrossed in a local show filming a concert pianist. He seemed to be taking mental notes of mistakes and techniques. He was mouthing something as he watched. He hadn't noticed her sit next to him.

He was still watching the program intently. After a while he yawned. Loudly. He got up and rubbed his eyes. "Oh...im gonna go...wash this makeup off wheres the bathroom?" he asked having remember his face was covered in heavy makeup.
