Sharp just nodded along as Kiah said what she did.

"All right, that makes sense." he said.

"If you feel being here will help, then I fully support it." he told her.

"We'll do all we can to help you." he went on.

"And what did you want to ask me?" he then inquired.

Hal froze when he heard that.

"I... I am." he said.

"And... Hailie?" he asked. "THERE'S a name I haven't heard in a long time." he mused.

"...how do you know of her?" he asked her.

"I'm pretty sure I've never brought her up in conversation."

When the pendant hit his hand, the mana flowed into him, and with it, came a rush of memories. Memories that had been forcefully suppressed by outside sources.

"....oh..." he muttered.

"Oh my god..." he said.

"Hailie!" he then exclaimed.

"Hailie was here! I remember it all now!" he said further.

".....I'd be forced to forget..." he then realised, overcome with emotion over it all.

".....oh my..." Hal muttered.

"Wait..." he said.

"......Vanessa has her!" he realised.

"Vanessa has Hailie under her control!" he said further.

"That's why that wish manifested itself that way!"

"...it IS gorgeous, yes..." Hal had to agree.

"....and I can see where you're coming from." he went on.

"...damn it all." he then cursed.

"Vanessa has Hailie. This can't be good." he snarled further.

"She does NOT need the power of a djinn."

"Eh?" Hal muttered.

"Christopher?" he asked her.

"Wait, he's been laying in the same place for a while?" he then asked her.

"....." Hal was silent, before pressing a button on the P.A. system on his desk.

"Security, please check on prisoner #D4. NOW." he said into it, before taking his finger away.

"....so what is wrong with him?" he asked her.

"............I see." Hal replied.

"He may be useless to us, then." he said.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"And Vanessa has the power of a djinn at her disposal." he muttered.

"This... this situation keeps getting worse and worse." he went on, shaking his head.

".............." Hal was silent, again, hearing this.

"I.... hm." he muttered.

"That... that simplifies matters. A LOT." he said.

"Like, by an amazing amount." he went on.

"....we still need a way to kill her, though." he then said, thinking about it.

"It either takes another dark elf, or an EXTREMELY grievous injury to do it... but I'm not sure we have the manpower or resources to get it done." he admitted.

"Well... and pull off the sneak attack needed to successfully execute it." he clarified.

"...unless YOU can do it." he then said to Syraene.

Hal just sighed.

"All right." he said.

"....damn it all." he then cursed.

"We need to free Hailie from Vanessa's clutches." he went on.

"With her under her command, I'm scared to think what could happen to the world." he told them.

"We djinn have our limits, yes, but we ARE pretty powerful..."

Hal suddenly snapped his fingers.

"Ah!" he exclaimed.

"Yes! Right!" he said, before digging through one of his drawers. After a moment of digging, he pulled out a machine that looked like one that should have a card swiped through it.

"Kiah." he addressed the Fyrane.

"I.D. Now." he told her.

"So you actually CAN get into lab."
