That response alarmed him, though he kept it internal.

"....Erica." he said.

"I would like you to undergo an examination." he told her.

"Just a standard one." he then assured her.

"I want to make sure that there are no hidden physical or mental problems potentially brewing." he continued.

"You don't even have to come into the Unit for it, I can have someone brought here, if it would make you more comfortable." he then offered.

This was NOT the Erica he was used to, and that strange marking was setting off all the alarms in his head... though he wondered if he was just being paranoid.

ERica just sighed.

"I..." She paused, not sure what it was that she was to say here. She didn't even know if she could actually answer that, before taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly.

"No... I .. I'll go there. Just set it up and let me know." She said simply.

"Because... I couldn't even tell you how long it had been since you were last here... it's all just.. been a blur."

He then paused for a moment, and looked at his phone. He sent a text to the medic in question.

Text me ASAP. Let me know when I can call you. he sent her.

"Erica, I'm not going to lie... I'm worried about you." he then told Erica.

'Things being a blur is never good." he reasoned.

"I'm finding myself far more apathetic than I used to be, as well." She added.

"I'm wondering if it's anything to do with this." She motioned to the markings on her arm and chest that she had.

He then sighed, and shook his head, taking a drink of water.

"I'll take any help I can get for the moment, really." She added.

"as this is ... well... something, I suppose." She paused, shaking her head.

"sorry if I'm not making much sense, tends to happen with the whole lack of sleep thing." It was about here that Hal's cell dinged.

Give me.. fuck, twenty minutes? it was the reply he was waiting for.

Got it. he sent back.

No urgent panic rush, but I think Erica could benefit from a full checkup. Let me know the soonest you can do that. he then sent her.

With that, he looked back at Erica, and sighed heavily.

"Trust me, I understand." he told her.

"Believe me, I do." he said.

"We need to do something about your sleep issue, though." he then added.

Erica recoiled at his touch, and notably so at that.

"I..." She started, seeming to have a hard time with getting words out suddenly. It wasn't something that would be too diffiuclt to ping as being due to the contact. Something about it had n't agreed with her on a mental level.

She didn't say anything though, seeming to be ... almost waiting for something, even if it wasn't easy to identify what exactly.

He then looked at Erica once more.

"Angela's coming here." he told her.

"I really think something might be happening. Something none of us are aware of." he added.

I get the feeling a mana scan and a physical scan is needed. A complete one. he then added.

With that, he looked at Erica, and sighed.

"Erica." he said.

"Let's go sit in the den?" he suggested.

"Try and get a little more comfortable, at least?" he reasoned.

"While we wait for Angela, anyway."
