Leo looked over towards the newcomer, and sighed.

"Ah..." he stammered, before grabbing the part from Desiree's headset that needed replacing.

"One of these." he said, telling her what it is.

"There any way you can find out if you have?" he asked.

"And if so, there any way I can buy one off of you?" he asked further.

"...even though it'll be Desiree footing the bill of her own accord..." he then mumbled.

Why can't I just be

Kiah paused a moment, seeming to be thinking over it.

"I .... think so?" She asked, knowing he wouldn't eb abel to answer that.

"Let me go check. Probably take a few." She added before heading off to do that.

Sure enough, about ten minutes later, she returned.

"Got one! We actually have a few." She added with a chuckle as she came in.

"Can I talk to your procurement officer, then?" he asked. "Or... someone that works in that department, anyway?" he asked further.

"Need to go through the proper channels and such." he said further.

"I know your boss needs all the red tape dealt with and such."

Kiah paused before laughing lightly.

". . . Leo. I run the deparment." She stated simply as she held the piece out to him, new and in box.

"How can I pay for it?" Desiree asked, her voice curious.

"I happen to know of a medic who has a little girl with a birthday coming up." Kiah answered.

"Talk to them and set up a show - free of charge fo rthem - and we'll be even."

". . . Easy enough." Desiree responded with a nod. "CAn do."

"I'll text you the information. He's not working today."

"But Lunet's taken to trying to make 'em herself." She then said.

"I'm sure if you two worked together, it'd be easy enough. Isn't it the coding you have a hard tim with?" She asked, her voice curious.

"Thanks, Leo." Desiree said with a soft smile.

"You two should work on more things together." Kiah commented.

"Not... sure what else there is you can work on though." She admitted.

"Oh, while I'm here, I wanted to ask. Have you gotten around to fixing Chloe yet?" She asked, her voice curious.

"I only ask because she'd be useful, not being alive and all, with one of the things we're scheduled to test today. There's a very real possibility of it emitting one hell of a toxic gas."

"That's going to be slightly more involved, so I'll do it after I finish this current project." he told her.

"Not sure whether or not I should fix Desiree's headphones before Chloe, though." he then admitted.

"I don't want to make you wait longer for Chloe to be up and running, but knocking Desiree's headphones out of the way would be simple and quick..." he went on.

"How tight is the time budget?" he asked Kiah.

"Thi sisn't something that needs to be done right now, or anything. Just, before the weeks end, ideally." She added.

Desiree just smiled softly.

"Thank you, so much, Leo." She said with a light chuckle.

"I'm sure you realise I would have been willing to wait until you weren't busy, but I do appreciate the rush order."

He dialled Lunet's number, and waited for her to answer.

"Can you come to R&D at The Unit?" he asked.

"Need help with Chloe."
