"Her wording is a little... off... but that's still her, for sure." he went on.

"She's safe, and that's all that matters." he reasoned.

Alice nodded before pocketing her phone again.

"I'm sure you could call her if you're particularly worried, but we know she's safe with Uncle Hal." She added.

"Beyond that, I... don't know what to say or do about this, really." She admitted a few seconds later.

"I get the feeling that the barriers I have are going to come crumbling down very quickly and easily, no matte rhow much effort I put into them."

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Is there a way I can help?" he asked.

"Or, is there something we can do?" he asked her.

"Any place you can go to try and maintain the barriers?"

"Just let me know if you're going to tell Mom so I can clear out, before she causes me to go off the deep end, inadvertantly." Was all Alice said with a light shake of her head.

"Beyond that, I doubt there's anything else that can be done." She added.

"Which... really sucks." She said candidly.

"I'll just have to deal with this as best I can."

"I understand." he told her.

"I'll warn you ahead of time." he said.

"..." he was then silent, before looking around.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Maybe one of the blooms here can help you with your barriers." he suggested.

Alice sighed, heavily.

"Maybe... but... haven't we tried most if not all that we can do?" She asked, her voice curious.

"I'm not sure, I admit." She added before shaking her head.

"... if you have any ideas, please let me know. For now... your worry about me and the barriers, along with how Mom'll react, and what's going on... it's really starting to drag me down." She paused a moment, meeting her fathers gaze, "So I'm heading to my room. I'll catch you later."

Vincent was silent, before sighing heavily as well, and pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Right." he said.

"You go do what you need to." he said.

"And yes, the last time we tried, we DID try all of what could work." he then told her.

"However, I've added some new flowers to the greenhouse since then, and one or two MIGHT do something. They have the potential to." he said. "Just need to check on the specifics." he continued.

"But it's best we don't get our hopes up." he finished.

Alice nodded before heading off, not sure what it was that she should make of all this. Once thing she did know, was that there was a definite potential for world shattering results.

And that terrified her.

"Vicki... I really hope you're safe." She said quietly as she walked past her sisters room.

Vincent watched her leave, before looking at the plants in his greenhouse.

"...I seriously doubt any of these will help." he muttered.

"But... more importantly... Rowena can't be kept in the dark about this forever." he said to himself.

"Sooner or later, she'll find out." he went on.

"But how should she find out?" he wondered.

"What would be the best way to go about this...?" he asked further, before taking out his cell phone and calling his sister, figuring she should know about this, if she didn't already.

Vincent was left waiting for the phone to be answered for longer than he'd ideally like in this situation, but she did answer.

"Hello, Vincent." She greeted.

"To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Vincent just shook his head slightly.

"Not a pleasure this time." he told her.

"Far from it." he said further.

"Check ANY recent news feed." he went on.

"Alice alerted me to something that... may portend the end of the world." he said further.

"And that is NO exaggeration."

She was silent for a moment before telling him to hold on while she checked on her phone.

He heard a few curses from her, albeit faded as she wasn't holding the phone ip to her.

"Looks like I have a lot of work to do." She commented, properly addressing her brother. He could hear the shock in her voice, but also the a most cold exterior that he knew she had for situations that were of a serious nature like this.

"I had a feeling you should know." he told her.

"I won't take up any more of your time." he then said.

"...I have a task ahead of me." he mumbled.

"And you KNOW what I mean by that."

She was completely silent as Vincent said what he did.

".... Tell Rocky first. Then you two tell Rowena together. We do not need another Fyrane tearing through everywhere again." She commented before sighing, heavily.

"in the meantime, I have some people I have to talk to in order to try and get some protections in place."

With that, they ended the call, and Vincent made his way to the basement, where Rocky's apartment was.

He stopped at the door, sighed, and knocked.

"Racquel?" he called in.

"We should talk!" he said.

The door opened when he knocked, but the apartment down there was eerily silent. It wasn't hard for him to guess that it was a case of it not having been latched properly.

"Racquel?!" Vincent called as he stepped into the apartment and looked around. The entire place had an eerie lighting. It was all dim, quiet.

'This... is ominous.' he thought.

'What is going ON here...?' he wondered.

"Raquel?" he asked again.

"Are you home?" he asked further.

"...perhaps it might be more prudent to... call..." he then told himself quietly, backing up a little.

There was silence surrounding him. As he pulled his cell out to calm hers, he heard it chime on the coffee table.

She was nowhere to be found for the moment though.

As he went over to grab it, he caught whiff of something particularly fragrant.

He paused when he smelled the aroma.

"...what...?" he mumbled.

"What the...?" he asked, looking around.

"This... smell..." he said further.

He then looked around once more, narrowing his eyes.

"Hmmm." he mumbled, making his way to where she normally made her tea.

The door was closed, but he saw the light on beneath it. When he knocked, this time he received a response about five seconds later.

"Oh! Hello Vincent." She said with a light chuckle after opening the door.

"what brings you down here?" She asked before pausing.

"Snooping through my things, now?"
