I'm back. A little soggier than before, but at least the dogs walked more than I was expecting and they did what they needed to do.

I'm not worried about this storm for us. I'm in a no-evacuation zone and although I'm sure our yard will get really soggy (it always does), we'll be fine. The worst that might happen is we lose electricity and that, more from the rain than from any wind (that I'm seeing now, anyway). AMA, do you think it is likely to come straight at you after it's done with us?

@Koah: tornadoes scare me more than hurricanes - there's very little warning for them, versus days to prepare for a hurricane, and they're just so erratic!!

We just had a surge in power at my house. That's so weird. We don't have bad weather or anything going on. I just toured my whole house trying to figure out what's running and what clocks I need to re-set.
There's a small beep coming from the other room and I can't figure out where it's coming from. D=<

@Wildfire: I've been caught on tornado paths twice in my life and I'm mad at Hollywood for making it look easy to run from tornados. When you're close enough, you can't even see it. All you see is debris, hail, and dirt filling the sky. You have to just assume it's close because of how bad the wind is.
I've only had tropical hurricane experience in Hawaii. Which is mostly a bit of flooding and massive rain drops. :O
