Vaeri was silent for a moment before shaking her head.

"I'll hunt the pair of them out when I feel more alive." she answered after a few seconds.

"For now, I feel like I'm about to die, and/or lose my grip on this reality. I'd rather not have company when I do."

Jake was waiting for a few minutes, close to ten, before he received a reply.

Uhh, I know some things about the void, but they're mostly just lore and shit. she responded with.

Why? That's a random ass question.

Jake didn't get a text in response. Instead, his phone rang.

"I thought you said scrying was working?" She asked.

"Yeah. Apparently, it is. I haven't seen it, but there has been several attempts by multiple people." Jake answered.

"That confirms they are not IN the void itself. If anything, could be very very near to it, one of the more unknown realms."

"An elf that is projecting? That's... ridiculously rare." Anya commented.

"Anyway, that does sound like something near to the void." She then agreed.

"A treacherous place to be. She might not be doing so well. A couple demons I've heard of that have gone and returned... didn't last long. The lasting emptiness within their core drove them to drastic measures."

Anya paused.

"Sombra-fae...?" She asked.

"Oh. Do you mean a somnafae?" followed a couple seconds later.

"Yeah, that." Jake answered.

"... rare to find and ID them." Anya commented. "They blend in so well and are quite secretive."

Anya didn't interrupt Jake, didn't speak until after he'd said his piece.

"I'll see if I can find out anything. I don't know what or how, but maybe one of my contacts will." She told him.

"However, I make no promises."

"Love you too, Jake." Anya said.

"I might not be home when you get home. Probably going to travel to hell to ask around." she told him. "Just so you don't worry if you get home and I'm not there."

A couple of days later, Vaeri was sitting in the cafeteria, staring at her plate. She looked dead tired, and almost like she was giving up on things.

She hadn't really spoken to people while there, but that didn't mean she avoided others. They largely avoided her due to the flickering. If someone spoke to her, she'd hold a conversation with them, no issues. She just didn't go out of her way to start them.

The flickering did seem to be consistent, but it wasn't getting any worse. If anything, it may have been getting better. Perhaps her being away from the theatre was all that was needed.

"... I'm alive. I think." Vaeri answered honestly.

"Maybe? I don't even know anymore." She admitted a few seconds later.

"I just... Don't know what I'm doing, and feel like I'm losing my grip on reality."

"I know... I know, and do appreciate it, but..." Vaeri started before sighing and shaking ehr head.

"I just..." She started, laying her head in her arms on the table after pushing her plate to the side.

"I wish that someone, anyone, knew what the hell was going on. I know that's the main issue, people don't know, and I can't help" There was a despondence to her voice that couldn't be ignored, either.
