As she headed off, Jax and Levi saw her shadow 'break off' of her, and go in another direction. They were silent as it did that, before the former looked at the latter.

"...so it can detach from her shadow now?" he asked.

"Yeah, he can." Levi replied. "Ally found a spell to allow him to be on his own." he went on.

"So... he doesn't need her?" Jax inquired.

"Oh! Not at all. He can only detach as long as he stays within a certain proximity to her." Levi explained.

"Huh. Handy." was all Jax muttered.

Jax accepted the items, and nodded.

"I understand." he replied.

"Bathroom's up the stairs and to the right." Levi told him, causing Jax to, again, nod in response, and then leave the room to dry himself off and change into the dry clothing.

"...should wash and dry what he wore here." Levi mumbled. "Just to be nice..." he said quietly, though Ally could see that he was VERY concerned about Rebecca's state right now.

And that was when her 'shadow' returned with everything she would need.

"I'll do it." Levi responded, before leaving the room.

"So." her 'shadow' said to her. "The one in touch with The Swarm is missing, huh?" he asked.

"That ain't good." he commented.

"Somethin' happens to her, and they might rampage." he went on.

"Where y'gonna scry?" he asked.

"Uh-huh." the shadow responded, before looking around.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Dunno why, but I got a bad feeling outta nowhere." he muttered further, before watching her scry.

And scry. And scry.

And each time, the crystal just refused to land, refused to hone in on Rebecca.

'Ohhhh boy, not good...' the shadow thought.

"Yup." the shadow replied.

"You're the best there is at it, so that's a problem." he told her, as Levi returned.

"Lex IS gonna shower." he reported.

"...let me guess, no luck?" he then asked, reading the atmosphere of the room.

Ally just sighed and shook her head.

"...great..." Levi muttered.

Levi just sat down in one of the chairs, and buried his eyes in his hands.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it..." he cursed.

The shadow looked at the map, and then the crystal, before sighing.

"Let's ask the mutt what he knows when he comes back." he suggested to Ally.

"Maybe the last thing he remembers will have a clue."

Levi was still for a moment, before looking at her.

"...that's a frighteningly good point." he said. "If she's gone missing... and it's because of her abilities... there's a very real chance that they might come after ME." he reasoned.

"Assuming it's because she's a conduit, and not a siren." he then added.

"Still... doesn't make me feel any better if it's the latter." he lamented.

They were waiting for about 15 minutes, before Jax came back into the room, showered, dried off, and wearing the clothing that Ally had given to him before. He looked at them, before biting his bottom lip.

"...so." he said quietly.

"Any luck?" he hesitantly inquired, but with a smidgen of hope laced in his tone.

Jax appeared to be devastated to hear that, and almost collapsed onto his knees.

"For what it's worth, she's alive! As Ally said!" Levi quickly stated.

"..." Jax didn't say anything, just wandered to a chair and sat down in it.

"So... she's just straight-up missing..." he mumbled. "No way to find her..." he said further.

"No way WE can find her. Our methods aren't working." Levi corrected him. "I know it seems like a distinction without a difference, but the situation isn't 100% hopeless just because we didn't turn up any results." he insisted.

Jax paused for a moment, and then nodded.

"Yeah... yeah. Yeah, we will." he agreed.

"I just need to keep trying." he said.

"WE need to keep trying." Levi corrected him. "We're in this together." he said further.

Jax just looked at him, and smiled.

"Thanks." he replied.

Jax looked at her, and was about to say something... but then just sighed.

"...a little over a day." he admitted.

"So you haven't slept in over 24 hours." Levi commented.

"Yeah..." Jax mumbled.

"You really need to fix that." Levi told him. "You going into sleep deprivation is NOT going to help anyone." he reasoned.

"I know, I know." Jax lamented.
