"......." Jaden was silent as he heard this.
He almost couldn't believe it.
But he had to speak. Silence was the enemy here.
"I.... yeah. Yeah, sure." he said.
"I can get there right now." he told her.
"Where in the park?" he asked her.
"The centre, or somewhere close. I'm sitting at one of the picnic tables..." Desiree responded.
"See you in a few minutes." Jaden then said.
With that, he hung up and hastily got himself ready. He put on grey jeans, put on a white shirt, threw on a black jacket, made sure his hat was proper, and slipped on some black shoes.
He then threw an inky blob at the floor, and jumped in, appearing in a small alley near the park. He then closed his portal, and rushed to the park, scanning the area for, and eventually seeing, Desiree.
When her gaze absently met his, he waved at her, and quickened his pace a bit, until they were in chatting range.

When he got close enough, Jaden was able to see that Desiree was not in a good state. She seemed to have bruises all over her, and was shockingly pale. She seemed to be rather cold too, which was odd, since it was early fall, but still quite warm. She had a spring jacket on, denim, and seemed to be holding herself to contain her warmth within."H-hey." She said after a moment, her headset sitting on the table, not in the best of shapes.

Jaden slowed down to a halt when he was able to perceive the extent of her injuries.
"....." he was silent, as he felt the rage starting to well up within him, but remembered how she had reacted when he showed it back at the coffee shop. So he swallowed it, and hid it away.
"Hey." he replied.
"You.... don't look so good." he commented.
"To massively understate it."

Desiree was silent for a moment before sighing."I know." She said.
"I just... I know." She didn't know what else to say other than that.
"Jaden... can I stay with you for a few nights?" She asked after a few seconds of silence.
'I... I mean, I can go back home..."

Jaden was stunned and shocked to hear this.
He hadn't expected her to ask that. After all, he felt that he was untrusted.
He then shook his head a bit, and nodded.
"Yeah. Yeah, sure." he replied.
"Sure. I have plenty of room."' he told her.
"I assume you'd like to head there... well... sooner, rather than later?" he asked.
"Because we can head there right now if you wish."
He hadn't expected her to ask that. After all, he felt that he was untrusted.
He then shook his head a bit, and nodded.
"Yeah. Yeah, sure." he replied.
"Sure. I have plenty of room."' he told her.
"I assume you'd like to head there... well... sooner, rather than later?" he asked.
"Because we can head there right now if you wish."
Desiree was silent before looking around, almost as if she was paranoid that someone had followed her, before nodding."Let's go." She said quickly.
"Mana, please. I ... I don't want to risk being followed..." She added after a moment.

With that, the two of them started walking, and then turned down a side street that had NOBODY there. It seemed like it was outright deserted at the time.
"Right." Jaden said.
"This way." he told her throwing an inky blob onto the side of a building.
"Go on, I'll follow and close the portal behind me." he said further.
"It'll take you right to my den."
"Come on." he told her.
With that, the two of them started walking, and then turned down a side street that had NOBODY there. It seemed like it was outright deserted at the time.
"Right." Jaden said.
"This way." he told her throwing an inky blob onto the side of a building.
"Go on, I'll follow and close the portal behind me." he said further.
"It'll take you right to my den."
Desiree was silent for a moment before nodding and making her way through the portal. Once on the other hand, she dropped to her hands and knees, looking like she was either going to vomit or pass out, or both. That means of travel had not agreed with her.
At all.
That wasn't too surprising though. A Lot of people didn't handle their first portals well.

He then looked at Desiree, and acquired a guilty look on his face.
"....sorry..." he apologized.
"I should have warned you about that..." he admitted.
"That's... me being a dumb-dumb." he sighed.
"Do you need to go to the bathroom?" he asked.
"Just.... even to hang around the can for a bit?"

Desiree shook her head before carefully getting to her feet."I... I just need to sit down somewhere, so my head can stop spinning." She told him.
"So... ": She didn't say anything more for a moment before making her way to the couch and just sitting down, her elbows on her knees, and her head in her hands.

"There anything I can do to help?" he asked her.
"Anything at all?" he asked further.
"Just name it, and I'll do whatever I can to get it done." he said.

". . . can I use a phone?" Desiree asked after a moment or two. She hadn't been looking at him, and hadn't had her headphones. She felt him there, but hadn't known what he said. She figured it would be a good idea to inquire at least.
"Mine... well, mine died. I barely managed to get that text out." She added. "Before it died completely. The screen was flickering out."

He then dug his phone out, unlocked it, and handed it to her.
"Here." he said.

Desiree snickered lightly as she saw the background."So, I'm guessing you're not a Twilight fan." She commented as she fired off a quick text, showing Jaden that she was far more adept at typing on that thing than most of the teens he'd met.

"I'm deaf." She told him bluntly.
"Can't hear a damned thing without the headset, which was specially made for me to act as a multi-functional hearing aid."

"They would have gotten very little, because there's no way to prove it's a one of a kind set." She stated. "And because most people wouldn't be able to use them."
