Kalin paused a moment before sighing and setting her pen down.Probably. Was the reply.

Got it. Jaden responded.
He then put away his phone, grabbed his drink, and left the coffee shop. He made his way to where he wouldn't be seen, before disappearing in a hole of his own creation, appearing at the front door of Kalin's home.
He knocked on the door, which was answered by the tall green-haired man he knew as Rene.
"Here to see Kalin?" Rene asked.
Jaden just nodded.
"Head to the den, then." Rene replied, before stepping out of the way and taking out his phone.
Jaden's here. he sent to Kalin, as Jaden made his way to the den, and sat down in one of the chairs.
He then put away his phone, grabbed his drink, and left the coffee shop. He made his way to where he wouldn't be seen, before disappearing in a hole of his own creation, appearing at the front door of Kalin's home.

"Here to see Kalin?" Rene asked.
Jaden just nodded.
"Head to the den, then." Rene replied, before stepping out of the way and taking out his phone.

Be down in a moment. was the reply that Rene received. A few minutes later the woman in question stepped into the den."Hey Jaden." She said as she made her way to the couch across from where he'd sat down.
"What brings up the questions about Desiree?" She then asked, her voice curious.
"Because... I will admit, I hadn't expected to get that as a text."

Jaden looked at Kalin, and nodded slightly.
"Well..." he muttered, sighing a little.
He then proceeded to tell her what Desiree had told him. How things had gone, how she had gone to check her account, and all that she had told him afterwards.
"....what can I do, here?" he asked.
"I'll tell you what." Rene said from the doorway, having overheard that.
"Put her family 20 feet underground." he snarled, genuine loathing in his tone.
"Well..." he muttered, sighing a little.
He then proceeded to tell her what Desiree had told him. How things had gone, how she had gone to check her account, and all that she had told him afterwards.
"....what can I do, here?" he asked.
"I'll tell you what." Rene said from the doorway, having overheard that.
"Put her family 20 feet underground." he snarled, genuine loathing in his tone.
Kalin sighed."No. Not so long as I've heard that." She stated.
"But, REne? Go prepare the spare room. I think we're going to have company soon." She told him before looking back to Jaden.
"Desiree'll probably be here looking for a place to stay while she looks for somewhere to move." She then told him.
"Want to help her? Prove to her that her initial instinct of you having anything to do with her family finding her isn't true. "

"We need to prep Desiree's spare room!" he called further, as he stepped away and headed off.

"How?" he asked.
"What can I do?" he asked her, before thinking for a second.
"I suppose I can keep anything she values safe at my place..." he muttered.
"If she'll trust me with such." he then added.
"Serenity!" he called out.

"It took me two years last time. And this time.. I may not be able to if she blames me." She then said with a heavy sigh.

"....god DAMN IT." Jaden growled, as he about threw his phone to the floor, but changed his mind at the last second, opting to throw it down on the soft cushion of the chair beside him.
"This can't be happening!" he said.
"How do I prove to her that-" he went on, before pausing... and thinking.

"If they're dead... then she doesn't have to worry about anything else from them ever again." he reasoned.

"Desiree has been approached by Rene. He's offered to do just that... she keeps turning him down. SOmething to do with her faith and whatnot. Shje views most of this as a test of her faith." She continued.
"So ... honestly? That will not go over well if she finds out it was you."

"Kalin, I'm practically nobody to her." he then said.
"I'm someone she hardly knows. YOU'RE one that's been her friend for a good while." he continued.
"And I get the feeling that without you, her life is about to get a LOT harder." he went on.
"Even if she doesn't want anything to do with me anymore, if getting rid of her family will get her back on a safer and happier path, then I'll do it." he vowed.
"Will this hurt her relationship with you?" he asked her.
"Kalin, I'm practically nobody to her." he then said.

Kalin was silent for a few seconds before sighing."Honestly, I'm not sure." She told him honestly.
"There's no way for me to know what will happen, either." She added before running a hand through her hair.
'It's unfortunate, to put it lightly, but there's not much I can do. If Desiree comes to me, I'll try to make things better, talk to her... but I don't know if she will this time."

"Well, I think I'll just take my leave, then." he said.
"And I'll do it using my portals, without going inside." he told her.
"If Desiree doesn't see me around here, she might trust you more." he reasoned.

"Jaden, if you want to get the information regarding her family's location, check with REne. I think he's been keeping what tabs he could keep on them, on them." Kalin told him honestly."That's all I can say regarding that." She added before sighing.
"Beyond that, I'm not entirely sure what it is that either of us can do."

"She told me her life was in danger as well, effectively." he continued.
"And if the authorities refuse to help her, then someone else should."

A couple of weeks passed, and during that time, Jaden hadn't heard from Desiree at all. And he hadn't found any information on her family, the ones that were tormenting her so.
He was sitting in his suite, trying to search the net again for clues, before growling loudly, and knocking the bottle of water that sat beside him off the desk in anger.
"DAMN IT ALL!" he cursed loudly.
"WHAT THE HELL CAN I DO HERE!?" he yelled upwards, but knew an answer wouldn't come.
"Too delicate to have to deal with THIS bull." he told her.
