"Don't worry, I'll be able to help you." he told her.
"...I do have one more question, though." he then said.
"Do you have any favourite colours?" he asked. "Or perhaps a design or pattern you are particularly fond of?" he asked further.
"I know it might seem odd and random, but humour me."

Erica was quietly for a moment before shaking her head.
'Not really a favourite," she started, "But I've gornw fond of blue."
"If that counts." She then said.
"But patters or whatever? No... nothing."
"Blue?" Vincent replied.
"All right, thanks." he said, as Rene came back.
"Everything ok?" he asked.
"Indeed." Vincent responded.
"I've gotten all I need, and I should be back in about a week or so." he continued.
"And are you enrolling her in a mage school?" he asked Rene.
"I am in the process of it." Rene said. "But the red tape is horrendous." he muttered.
"...this is true..." Vincent agreed.
"I'll talk to Hollie, see if we can't streamline that a bit." he told him.
"That would be greatly appreciated." Rene replied.
"All right, thanks." he said, as Rene came back.
"Everything ok?" he asked.
"Indeed." Vincent responded.
"I've gotten all I need, and I should be back in about a week or so." he continued.

"Trying to prove I should be in a mage run school without actually... proving it, is quite difficult." Erica commented with a sigh.
"Because I won't take these off without good reason. Not for anyone, and I don't care. I don't think that once I'm dead it'll still hve an effect... but I have no idea."
"That.. is something to worry about in the future though.
Since for the moment, I'm alive, and I know that's a task and a half."
"By the time I'm finished, you won't need those wrappings." Vincent told her.
"If you continue to wear them, it will be for aesthetic reasons only." he assured her further.
"Now, the sooner I leave, the sooner I finish what I set out to do." he then reasoned.
"And don't worry. You deserve an education, and we're determined to get you one." he added with a smile.

"And for allowing me to examine your markings. I know that was difficult for you."

"You... seem to be all right, so... not that bad, I suppose." Erica commented.
'But if you're going to go, go." She then said. "Don't let me keep you." She added before sighing.
"Rene, I'm going to the library. I finished that book I was reading, so I wanna return it and get another or two."
Vincent had just about left the room when she said that, and froze.
"Sure thing." Rene replied.
"Hm?" Vincent muttered.
"Library? Book?" he asked, looking towards Erica.
"You like to read?" he asked her.
"Spend a lot of time doing so?" he asked further.
"Sure thing." Rene replied.
"Hm?" Vincent muttered.
"Library? Book?" he asked, looking towards Erica.

Erica paused before looking to Vincent.
"Yeah. I got nothing bettter to do with my days for the moment." She told him.
"Might as well try and continue some sort of education as best I can." She added with a shrug.
"Why do you ask? Surprised?" She then asked, her voice curious.
"A bit, yes." Vincent replied.
"It's rare to see one as young as yourself interested in reading." he told her.
"I have quite the collection of books, you know." he then commented.
"Would you like to see it at some point?" he asked.
"Or would you like me to bring you some on any specific subject you might be interested in?" he asked further.
"That's rather generous of you." Rene commented.
"Knowledge is meant to be shared." Vincent replied.
"If it is not, it is wasted."

Erica paused.
"I... just read random things for the moment, but... lemme get back to you on that?" She asked. In all seriousness, she had every intention of just getting something to read. Not necessarily something educational, although written documentaries wwere fascinating when pertaining to hisotry. She wanted a story right now though.
"Of course." Vincent replied.
"I have all kinds of books." he told her.
"Fiction, non-fiction, and... well, anything you can imagine." he said further.
"Regardless, I shan't hold you up any longer." he went on.
"I'll see you to the door." Rene told him.
"Mmhmm." Vincent mumbled, as the two of them left.

Erica was silent before shrugging and grabbing herself a drink. After a few minutes, she made her way to the door, just in time to see Rene making his way back.
"As I said, I'm off to the library." She said.
"I shouldn't be gone longer than an hour or so." She added. She walked there, and back, so an hour was a very realistic estimate.
Rene looked at her, and nodded.
"All right." he replied.
"Take care." he told her.
"Hm." he then muttered, scratching his chin a bit.
"Do you want a cell phone?" he asked her.
"You're young, but I think you're mature enough to handle one." he reasoned.
"Plus, it'd give you a way to contact me if need be." he added.
"All right." he replied.
"Take care." he told her.
"Hm." he then muttered, scratching his chin a bit.

Erica shrugged.
"No worries. All good." She said before waving and heading off, not saying anything more. She didn't really have anything more to say on that topic. She didn't care about the phone after all. Maybe she'd care more in the future, but for the moment, she didn't. Of course, if he got her a phone, that would be completely his choice, and she wouldn't deny it either.
"....." Rene was silent as he watched her go.
'...I really hope what Vincent is going to do will help.' he thought.
'It really seems like she just doesn't care about crap anymore...' he sighed, before sitting down at the kitchen table.
"...but is that because of the markings, or what..." he then wondered aloud.
He then just shook his head, and started to clear all the papers from the table.
"Guess I don't need all this anymore." he said.
"All that work and research... and I couldn't do a damn thing."

About seven months later, Erica was walking back from the library, which wasn't too surprising or unusual. This time was, though.
As she was walking back, and still despite her keeping her markings hidden, she heard footsteps of someone approaching. As they slowed down and she heard their steps match hers, she just sighed. She made her way into an alleyway before jut turning and looking toward the one that was there.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"....you." the person responded.
"Well... that's technically not correct." they then said.
"What I want... is THAT." they told her, pointing to her wrapped arm.
"But seeing as you and that are a package deal, my first statement is not entirely incorrect." they continued. "But now I'm being pedantic." they shrugged.
"You have a powerful ability." they then said.
"One that has great potential." they continued, taking a step closer towards her.
"If only used when in the hands of someone with vision." they added ominously.
"Well... that's technically not correct." they then said.
"What I want... is THAT." they told her, pointing to her wrapped arm.
"But seeing as you and that are a package deal, my first statement is not entirely incorrect." they continued. "But now I'm being pedantic." they shrugged.
"You have a powerful ability." they then said.
"One that has great potential." they continued, taking a step closer towards her.
"If only used when in the hands of someone with vision." they added ominously.
Erica was silent before rolling her eyes.
"Uh huh." She said.
"Sure." She didn't say much more before just smirking.
"I'd really like to see you try." She added, her voice promising trouble if he did. The question was, of course, whether or not she'd be able to deliver that trrouble to him.

"I'm not letting this prize slip away." he finished.
With that, his hands charged up with electric mana, and he shot a few warning zaps at her feet.
"So are you going to make this easy on yourself, or no?" he asked.
"I do, indeed, intend to try." he told her.
