@SnakeWeaver: I really have a long way to go... There's so much I still don't know yet, and so many mistakes I make. But honestly, I don't have any kind of musical training (unless you count high school band) and I don't understand music theory, so I'm as stumped as the next guy.

@SnakeWeaver: Yes, I use FL Studio ($300+ for full version) and I also paid for my plugins ($hundreds+). It's a very expensive hobby unless you're doing, like, chiptunes. :' )

@SnakeWeaver: To give you an idea, $25 is the cheapest you will almost ever find a small plugin.
You don't NEED plugins to make good music, but they do help expand what you can do. It would probably help me to learn to work with fewer plugins, but at least at this point I'm not buying anymore lol
