"But here? It's a good skill." he said.
"Anyway... thanks for accepting this." he told her.
"How often do you take these breaks, anyway?" he asked.
"Word through the pipeline is that you work yourself ragged, and only take breaks when they're insisted upon."

Holly sighed as Sharp asked his question.
"Sadly, that is the truth, Hal." She told him.
"It's the only time I can take a break." She added. "By all rights, I really shouldn't even be taking this one." That statement almost made it sound like she was being controlled, or something. It wasn't an expected response, not at all.
Sharp raised an eyebrow when he heard that.
"Eh?" he muttered.

"The council... well... there are a collection of old fools that would just...do anything to get rid of me." She then said.

Sharp raised an eyebrow when she said what she did, and then smirked.

He then lowered his arm out the open window, and snapped his fingers.
A minute or so later, Hollie's cell phone started to ring, and she saw it was her brother.
When she answered it, he sounded... anxious.
"Hollie, I would not recommend you return to the Council anytime soon." he warned her.

"Wait... what?" She asked, her voice almost concerned.
"Vincent, what's going on?" She asked. "Because honestly, that's my domain. I need to be there if it's serious, you know that."
"No, AVOID the Council." Vincent responded, his tone adamant.
"Part of the Council building collapsed due to an apparent infestation of Irontooth Termites." he told her.
"Some areas have collapsed, but there's people there already taking care of the fumigation and extermination. The building was evacuated, and nobody is allowed back in." he explained further.
"And there were some injuries." he then said to her.
"Percy, Eugene, Milton, Elmer, and Herbert were all struck by debris. Doesn't look like they'll die, but they'll be spending some forced time away from the Council to recuperate and recover." he finished.
Those names were familiar to her. They were the biggest thorns in her side in terms of people wanting to get rid of her.

"How the hell did that slip under everyone's radar!?" She exclaimed.
"For the love of... seems I have some punishments to dole out. There are people there hired JUST to make sure shit like that does NOT happen!" There was a distinct lack of patience to her voice before she sighed.
"But, at least the head of that unit is in that pile. Maybe that'll be enough punishment to teach him."
"Well... see, I believe it was Eugene that was responsible for keeping abreast of that sort of situation, and such." Vincent replied.
"So odds are his time at the Council has ended." he guessed.
"Regardless, you should stay away for now." he told her.
"I'm here, as well as Lindsay and Kalin. We're monitoring the situation." he assured her further.
"So just... think of this as an unexpected break." he finished.

With that, they ended their call, and Sharp spoke up.

"And... well... guess you're getting a break." he then added.
"Also, fair enough on the just going home." he added with a chuckle.
"We wouldn't be having this discussion if you needed to." he went on.
"At least you have people there maintaining order and structure."

"Vincent's wonderful with leadership and showing people what needs to be done, and making sure they get it done." he told her.
"He just loathes the responsibility that comes with such a position." he went on.
"Which... is one of the big reasons why he doesn't HAVE such a position." he added with a light chuckle.
"But regardless, I'm sure you can spare at least an hour or two?" he then asked her.
"Of course he could." he responded.
"Vincent's wonderful with leadership and showing people what needs to be done, and making sure they get it done." he told her.

"And thankfully, he realises that too. It's part of the reason as to why he rejects the idea of taking my position permanently." She then added.
"So while, as you said, he loathes the responsibility and the like, he's aware of how he wouldn't be a good fit anyhow. He can fill in, thankfully, and most people will treat him as they would treat me when he DOES fill in for me." She finished with before sighing lightly as she looked out the window.
"And yes. Seems I can certainly spare the time."
