Hollie didn't move.

"Still fucked." She answered.

"Still drunk as all hell." She then said before sighing lightly.

"Then again, not surprising... we stopped drinking somewhere around 2 hours ago." She paused a moment.

"How are you faring?"

"I've been better." Hal replied.

"I'm... well, as close as I've been to hung over in a very long time." he said.

"Good thing I left my secretary a message before we did what we did." he went on.

"Because I can NOT go into work." he reasoned.

"That'd be miserable."

". . . you at least have more time before you're due there." Hollie managed to get, her words slow.

"Because... you're 8 hours behind now." She added before sighing.

"Wanna help me upstairs again?" She asked, meeting his gaze. He could see, without a doubt, that she really was still quite drunk.

At least she could still speak relatively well.

".....right." Hal replied.

"Bah. I'm confused on time zones, and in no condition to try and figure it out." he mumbled.

"And help you upstairs?" he asked.

"Of course." he replied.

Then, before she could say anything more, he was beside her, and she found herself scooped up by his mana, and set gently in his arms.

"Let's go." he told her.

Hollie laid her head against him once she was in his arms.

"Thanks.." she said quietly before they were heading upstairs.

"I just hope Vincent doesn't stop by where Lindsay will be... and then here...."

Hal just sighed.

"Cross that bridge when we get to it." he told her.

"For now, just relax." he said.

"You need to rest and recuperate from last night." he reasoned.

"Because... hoo boy, you can really hold your liquor."' he told her.

"And your stamina and energy are something I could really get used to." he added with a smirk.

Hollie just chuckled.

"Considering my age.... I better be able to hold my liquor." She commented.

"I drink semi regularly, actually. So ... tempered as all hell."- She added.

---

Later in the day, Hollie was woken by familiar mana and a knock on the door, along with a ring of the bell. She growled as she just covered her head with her pillow, refusing to get up.

It wasn't until the door to the bedroom opened and Hal stepped in that she looked up.

"Vincent's here." He told her. Hollie just groaned before sighing and getting to her feet. She wasn't sure if she was still drunk or not, just knew that she felt like shit... and whether she was or not... this hangover would be absolutely brutal.

She grabbed a robe, slipped it on with Hal's help, before making her way downstairs, praying that Hal would stay out of sight and out of mind for this little interaction with her brother.

She opened it a crack and just sighed.

"Yes?" She asked, sounding and looking like absolute shit.

Hal knew to stay away here. So he disappeared deep into the manor, and waited.

Meanwhile, Vincent stepped back a bit when he saw and heard Hollie.

"....Hollie...?" he addressed her.

"You look and sound horrible." he commented.

"No wonder Lindsay's filling in for you." he said further.

"Do you need to go to a hospital?" he then asked.

Hollie shook her head lightly.

"No... I'll be fine." She told him honestly.

"Just need some time. Pretty sure it's nothing too serious." She added after a moment as she leaned agains thte door.

"So wanna just leave me be?"

"........." Vincent was silent as she said what she did.

"Uhhhh... if you say so..." he muttered.

"But... just..." he mumbled further, before shaking his head.

"Never mind." he said.

"There anything I can bring you?" he asked.

"Any teas that may help?"

Hollie paused as Vincent asked his question. She did know of a tea that would help, but was also very much aware of how it would NOT be a good idea to request some, for then he'd know exactly what was wrong. The last thing that she wanted him to know was what had been going on, because too many questions would be asked.

And she knew that he wouldn't like the truth.

"No... I think I'm all right. I get plenty from Rocky myself." She then said honestly. It was true, after all.

She just didn't have the one tha towuld be useful here, since she never needed it. It was rare she drank bnearly as much as she did the night before.

"All right, fair enough." Vincent replied.

"I guess I'll go." he said.

"I don't think my being here is helping you any." he reasoned.

"Sorry I bothered you." he apologized. "I just wanted to see if I could help." he told her, showing her that Lindsay had, indeed, hid the real truth.

"Bye for now, Hollie."

"Thanks for stopping by." Hollie said with a soft smile.

"And I will be fine. Don't worry." She added.

"I'll see you later." was the last thing she said before he'd said his farewells and she closed the door, making a mental note to give Lindsay a 'bonus' so to speak. She didn't know what it was that she would do, but she knew that she would have to do something.

"I... really should have something to eaty.... might help me feel more alive." she muttered before pushing off from the wall and making her way to the kitchn, her steps a bit unsteady.

'Hey Hal!" She called.

"He's gone." She added after a moment.

A minute or so later, Hal appeared, having walked down the stairs.

"All right." he said.

"Sounds like he left without a fuss." he commented.

"Guessing you said you were sick." he went on.

"Because... let's face it... you really do look it." he told her honestly.

Hollie was silent.

"Yeah... I did." She answered.

"One of these days, I'll tell him." She then said.

"But... I have no idea when. If only just because of the fact that he's a stubborn old fool... that won't adapt too easily." She then said.

"And... he's already mentioned that he has an issue with those like you. Djinn, genie, etc."

Hal just sighed deeply.

"I understand." he told her.

"I realize that... he won't be too accepting of me. Mostly because of what I am." he said further.

"And yes... he'll have to learn of this one day." he reasoned. "But it doesn't need to be today. Mostly because of how you're feeling." he went on.

"What can I do to help that, anyway?" he then asked her.

"What can you do? Honestly, I don't know."[/n] She told him honestly.

[b]"Are you heading home todate, or no?"
She then asked after a few seconds, her voice curious.

"Well.... you name it." Hal replied.

"I can do everything, but at the same time, nothing." he told her.

"And I don't know." he admitted.

"Part of me really wants to keep skipping until an emergency happens or whatever." he said.

"I know the paperwork will pile up, but that's nothing TOO concerning yet." he then added.

Hollie just laughed.

"You're welcome to hide here." She told him honestly.

"Me, I'm getting some sleep, because I feel like I'm going to die." She added with a light laugh.

"Heh, all right." Hal responded.

"Let's get you back to bed." he told her.

-7 months (or so) later-

Once again, Hollie and Hal found themselves in bed, having just enjoyed a night of drinking and fun activities under the blankets. They'd always set aside one night a month where they would specifically go all out, and ditch work the next day. And it'd been working great for them.

But, as they were bathing in the afterglow, and while Hollie was still a little bit drunk, they heard the doorbell ring from down below.

"...." Hal was silent, before making his way to the window, and peering out.

"It's your brother." he informed the woman.
