When she got back, she saw that Uriel had already finished what she'd given him.
"Welcome back." he said.
"And do not worry about it." he told her.
"Family is important, and I know it's hard for you to keep worrying about your brother like you do." he said further, before pausing a moment.
"Ah well, shouldn't be a surprise I know that." he went on.
"An angel's an angel." he reasoned.
"He doing all right up there?" he asked her.

"He's probably just going to go back to sleep. May surface again tonight, I'm... actually not sure." Aimee admitted.
"I do worry about him... no one should sleep as much as he does..." She trailed off before sighing.
"Anyhow, is there anything you wish to speak about?" she asked curious, wanting to change the topic from her brother.

"Mm." Uriel mumbled.
"Indeed." he said.
"And yeah, a few things, I suppose." he went on, looking around the room.
"You're pretty durable." he complimented her.
"Seriously, you took a bit of a beating from that gang, and were then hit by that electricity." he went on.
"It's impressive you didn't pass out."

Uriel sighed.
"Sad. But true." he said.
"The world is filled with narrow-minded bigoted individuals that wish harm on those that are different." he commented.
"But apparently she thinks that the human race is still worth something, and can maybe redeem itself." he went on, looking generally upwards.
"So, by her will, this continues, one can say."

Aimee just shrugged.
'Beyond that though, while yes taht does help with my durability, it's also just boosting what was already there." She told him honestly. When he looked at her almost quizzically she sighed.
"I grew up on the streets.. Spent ages 3 to 12 with my brother taking care of me while we were trying to survive." She then said.
"He was five, I was three... not fun." She then paused a moment.
"But we survived... and... 'she'?"

Uriel smirked a little when she asked her question.
"Firstly, it's impressive and amazing that you've managed as long as you have, especially with you and your sibling living on the streets for 9 years." he told her.
"You really ARE a tough one.'' he said.
"Also... yeah." he went on.
"You heard what I said. What of it?" he asked with a small smile.

"Well... that's a fair enough assumption." Uriel responded.
"And I suppose it could be seen as correct, but... naw." he said.
"She's a female." he confirmed.
"She's done well with the position as well." he said further, to which Aimee looked confused again.
"Oh yeah, there's been previous people that held the job." he told her.
"They got tired of it, found a suitable replacement, and... well... retired."

Aimee was silent as Uriel said all he did.
"That..." She paused.
"Well, all right then." was all she said. She had no idea what else to say in a situation like that, about a topic of that sort. She knew nothing about it, so she didn't want to step on any toes, and even then, she didn't know what she'd want to say anyhow.

Uriel just chuckled.
"Yeah, I'll bet it's a bit much to take in." he said.
"Hell, if you want, if it's too much for you, I'll erase your memories of this." he told her.
"The conversation, at least." he clarified.
"Oh, and just so you know, your assailants are getting their just desserts." he then said, seemingly out of nowhere.
"Where they are, it's... a might warm." he chuckled.

"Perfectly fine with the information. If it against the rules for me to know, then do as you need to." Aimee said after a moment.
"As for the attackers.... thank heavens for that. Finally learning their lesson." She then said, a certain degree of venom to her voice that one wouldn't have heard from her before. It was very rare to have anything like that in her voice.
"I do hope they enjoy it." She added, rather sarcastically.

Uriel just smirked again.
"I thought you'd like to know that." he said.
"As for you having the info, I don't care." he told her.
"It's whatever to me." he said.
He then got up and stretched out, his wings instinctively coming out and spreading across the room, and coming dangerously close to whapping her in the face.
".....oops." he muttered.
"Sorry about that." he said, withdrawing them.

Uriel froze when she touched the wing that was close to her. His face turned a little red, and a goofy smile spread out across his face, before he shook his head quickly.
"Eh-heh, thanks." he said.
"Yeah, they're strong, but softer than most anything on Earth." he told her.
"Sleep on a pillow of these, and you'll have a comfortable sleep the rest of your life." he chuckled.
"Take a few of the end ones. They're close to moulting off, anyway."

Aimee hesitated for a few seconds before nodding. That movement he could tell was quite appreciative, before little tugging on the aforementioned ones. As she tugged on a few that weren't ready to come off though, he noticed that she was particularly gentle.
After collecting a few, she just smiled softly.
"Thank you." She said.
"They are definitely softer than most anything else I've ever felt." She added. "There was a cat I encountered in the past that rivaled them" She had plans for them, and they weren't involving her.

Uriel tried his best to hide the fact that he liked her touching his wings, and for the most part... he managed it. He then cleared his throat when she finished, and nodded.
"Fair enough." he said.
"At any rate, odds are I should be going." he told her.
"I can't stay down here for very long, and... barrier or no barrier... I'd rather not draw unnecessary and unwarranted attention here." he reasoned.
-6 months later-
Over the past six months, Aimee and Uriel had met a few more times, and they seemed to be getting along... decently. Uriel was a little distant, and seemed like he was a bit hesitant to keep things going... but inevitably, he always ended up staying for as long as he dared, before putting her in the timeframe of danger.
Right now, Aimee was rather wishing for his company, as she was home alone. Vincent was in Sweden, gathering some rare herbs for someone, and her brother was at his specialists, getting some semi-annual tests done for his narcolepsy. So she was home alone, craving company.
And she would get it... just not the way she wanted. For a male... one that was slightly shorter than Uriel, but just as built, wearing clothing that was shockingly similar to his, made his way to the front door. The big differences were that his hair was dark brown, and his eyes were the lightest shade of grey, but they would still be able to pierce anyone with their glare.
He paused when he reached the door... before knocking on it... loudly, and authoritatively.
"Fair enough." he said.

Aimee acquired a puzzled expression when she heard the door before getting to her feet and heading to said entrance. She was covered in ink, but didn't seem to care. She opened the door to answer it, pausing as she saw the imposing man tha twas there.
"Oh, hello." She said kindly.
"If you are looking for Vincent, he is not in at the moment. Would you like me to pass on a message?" She asked

The man just silently looked at her for another moment, seemingly sizing her up.
"No." he replied.
"I am not looking for Remmington, and there's no message needed for you to pass on." he told her.
"In fact, YOU are the one I'm looking for." he then said further, his eyes narrowing, and his voice acquiring a very dark and ominous tone.
"We need to talk." he told her.
"NOW."
