Oh gosh no. the only reason you wouldn't be allowed to hold the baby right after birth is if there is complications. My first i was able to hold my baby girl while they were closing me back up....
or...
right after ....?
I know it was before i left the surgery room though. xD
The second girl was harder because I wasn't getting enough oxygen and there's a bit of a sour memory there... But they wouldn't sit me up so that I could get the oxygen, and so my little one got held by my mother and mother in law before i got to hold her an hour after birth when i stopped holding my breath from anger.

They’ll let you hold the baby, but they’ll surprise charge you for it. Maybe your insurance covered it or it’s only some hospitals that do it. But ooooof, that second birth experience just sounds so frustrating. Glad you’re ok though and you’ve gotten to hold your girl more than your mom and mother-in-law by now. xD
