Going by estimations for wait times I've found online... I'm expecting the actual surgery to be sometime in December.

It depends on how it goes.
If it's a laparoscopic version, I could be home that same day and I could be good in a couple days.
If not, and it's open, then.... well, that's going to hurt. A lot. Could be stuck in the hospital for a few days afterward as well.
