@Addy:
It's building faster.
I can feel it.
It's hunting me,
I can't just sit.
I have to move,
I can't stay still
For it will just
Bend my will.
I'll lose myself,
I'll fade away.
It will happen,
What can I say?
It's hard to avoid,
I've been running for years
No matter how I try,
It ignores my tears.
I try so hard
I wish it to die
I can't kill it,
It's far too sly.
It hides in the shadows
and feasts on your fears.
It will always be in control
And will always turn your gears.
It will take you to the edge
The edge of despair.
Before pulling you back,
Hard, and it won't care.
It wants your life,
And it wants your soul.
It will do all it can,
It will force you to unroll.
You won't be able to
Hold onto yourself.
It will force you to put,
It all on a shelf.
Where who you were
Will sit and stare.
You will never again allow
It to breathe any fresh air.
By now it seems
You may have seen.
What it is that this is
Where it has been.
It can tear you apart
From the inside out.
There's nothing to stop it
Once it's all throughout.
As it permeates you,
As it invades your senses.
You lose everything within
You lose your defences.
You'll believe in untruths
You'll worship lies.
You won't see the truth,
And you won't see the skies.
Nothing will make sense,
Everything will be false.
There's nothing you can do,
For now it's all lost.
You've never felt like this,
Lost amidst it all.
But now you have no choice,
You must answer it's call.
It owns your body,
Your heart and your soul.
It'll tear you apart,
And leave you in the cold.
You can't stop it,
Once it's within.
It's easier to give in,
Just let it win.
You'll see what isn't real,
And believe what isn't true.
But that's not a problem,
For it'll all be for you.
The straps tighten around,
The material stops you
What they put in your system,
Forcibly pulls you through.
You don't want to stay,
You want to be free.
They say to play their game,
'You'll be free, you'll see.'
You can't believe their words,
They're tearing you apart.
But jacket around your torso,
Feels like it's tight around your heart.
You fight with them,
Never giving up.
You pray you will win,
You pray for good luck.
You remain on the edge,
Of what's real and what's false.
It gets to the point,
You're convinced there's no pulse.
You never believe,
What it is that they say.
You never believe them,
At the end of the day.
This feeling is heaven,
It's all you ever dreamed.
What you never realize though,
Is that it's not what it seemed.
You killed your own family,
As you followed your 'dreams'.
You descrated their bodies,
As you fell apart at the seams.
You're seams are now broken,
They are torn and shredded.
With no way to fix them,
With the needle that is threaded.
You are to be killed,
Put to death now.
Your crimes were to great,
No one is even asking 'how'.
They wish you were gone,
Away from this place
They want you to die,
They never want to see your face.
As you realize your fate,
It all falls into place.
The pieces fit together,
And you realize your race.
You're in a race with the clock,
For the time is ticking nearer.
Your death is hours away,
And you wish you thought clearer.
You don't know what happened,
No one will tell you.
No one believes you don't know,
No one will give you a clue.
You want to see your sister,
But something inside stops you.
You realize it'd be a bad idea,
For you have a nephew.
Her son is but a year old,
And you would hate to affect him.
You're sure that you would,
Drag him into your sin.
And so you sit still,
Watching the clock.
You listen to the ticks,
You listen to the tocks.
It never once stalls,
And you can't help but be relieved,
Maybe you'll be lucky,
And you will be grieved.
Not for who you became,
But who you once were.
That's what you want missed,
That, you would prefer.
And so your tale ends,
With you being put to death.
Hopefully your sister doesn't follow,
Hopefully, she stays like the rest.
Sane and in control.
Believing what is right.
The voices need to stay away,
Stay away, and out of sight.
I love this one, and I don't know why
It's building faster.
I can feel it.
It's hunting me,
I can't just sit.
I have to move,
I can't stay still
For it will just
Bend my will.
