Ah.

It's been a calm morning for the critters today.

We have a rainy day here so they're all staying in.

I think Ozzy is willing to give ours. He just wants to play outside.

Honestly I'm just hoping my cousin doesn't come over today.

Yes! If it were to rain though, then they'd definitely not come over.

@Tuijp: "beagles are a handful because they have a lot of energy
And yeah, when a dog is found abandoned, it takes a lot of love and training before they get over it"

Sam, the beagle mix is more cat than dog. He lays around and sleeps a lot.

Sydnee, the whippet/lab never got over it. She's got permanent cognitive damage according to my stepsister.
Her 'flight' instinct has been disabled and apparently, she has memory loss with a guarantee of Alzheimer's in old age.

@Angelus: it will take a lot of training to show her you mean no harm, but it will be worth it

@Tuijp: Yeah I didn't realize the memory issue until recently.
That explains why she just won't seem to get entirely comfortable with my friends. They don't come over much, two of them don't live in the area, which makes it difficult for her to commit them to memory.

@Angelus: my dog is 16 and his memory isn't too good anymore either. Some people, he just doesn't remember no matter how many times he saw them. Others, he remembers after seeing them once. Mostly people who give him food, cuddle or women with blond hair.

@tuijp: Lol women with blonde hair. That's oddly specific.
I'm naturally a dirty blonde but like to color my hair black and red.

The food and cuddles make sense though. Those are things that dogs understand best as being positive associations with people.

@Another Movie Addict: erro again
@Angelus: I kid not. He has a serious thing for women with blond hair. No matter if it's a neighbour or a jogger, who will try to keep up with.
Food also helps with making humans human friendly.

@Tuijp: My stepdad's cat whom we just put down in January after she had a stroke (but she'd exceeded the typical cat lifespan, she was around 16) who preferred men to women. Women were only useful for feeding her and turning on the tap (she wouldn't drink from a dish, only the tap).
