Sometime later, Cain was visiting his folks since Hal was home, and Lunet made her way down to where Hal was sitting, getting rather frustrated with his laptop.

"Hey, what's got you so irritated? I can hear it in your breath." She said as she approached and sat down in one of the chairs.

Hal looked over towards her, and sighed.

"It's my laptop." he replied.

"I think it's finally had the biscuit." he told her. "Nothing but error messages, and rebooting doesn't help." he went on. "I've even tried several more advanced troubleshooting techniques, but nothing works." he lamented.

"I may need to either call in a friend that's a whiz with tech, or just outright get a new one." he continued.

"It's irritating, to say the least."

Lunet was silent for a moment before looking almost curious.

"I.... can I have it then?" She asked unexpectedly.

"I... if I can't kill it since it's already dead..." she trailed off. She couldn't even explain why she wanted the laptop that was dead, she just knew that she did.

She honestly thought she could get it working agian, and she had no idea why she thought that. She'd never used a computer or anything of the sort (aside from her phone) before.

Hal looked at her and raised an eyebrow.

"....sure." he replied.

"I don't see why not." he said.

"Might be difficult for you to use, though. But hey, as you said, can't kill what's already dead." he went on with a light chuckle.

He then slid the piece of tech over towards her.

"Knock yourself out." he told her.

"Meanwhile, I'M going to try to shop for a new one." he muttered.

"Thanks." Lunet said before getting to her feet.

"Good luck, with trying to figure out a new one to buy." She then said.

"I'm going to run away with this, though." She added before chuckling lightly.

"I'll see you later." With that, she took the laptop, and was gone

"....." Hal was silent as Lunet said what she did, and then ran off.

"Huh." he muttered.

"Rare to see her this excited about something." he commented to himself.

'Hardly a complaint, mind.' he then added mentally.

With that, he sighed, and got up from where he was. He needed to make a phone call, and he needed to get ahold of Leo. The one person he knew that was an expert on tech.

Later that night, Hal had stepped out for a moment before the one he was waiting for was to show up. While he was gone, Lunet carefully made her way downstairs with that laptop. She set it on the coffee table, along with the note that she scribbled for him - not knowing, of course, if it was legible. She'd been told that she wasn't horrible with writing though, at least.

She left them, and hide around the corner, where he wouldn't see her. She wanted to know his reaction with her not there, what his initial and true reaction would be.

When Hal returned, he saw the laptop on the coffee table, as well as the note. He made his way over towards them, and checked the note first.

"...'turn me on'?" he read aloud.

"Huh... all right then..." he muttered, sitting down and booting up the laptop. Much to his surprise, it started up a lot quicker than it ever did, and seemed to run perfectly.

"Eh?" he mumbled, as he navigated through the programs and menus.

"What the...?" he asked quietly.

"This thing was on its last legs earlier today... HOW is it running better than it ever has??"

Lunet just came around the corner and approached Hal.

"Happy it's working again?" She asked simply, curiously. There was something to voice that ... almost sounded uneasy and very hesitant, too.

"Yes... yes. Very much so." Hal started before looking toward her. "But... how?" He asked.

"How?" She asked in response. "How what?"

". . . how is it working so much better than it had been before?" He asked. Lunet just stuck her hands in her pockets and shrugged.

"I just played with it a bit. dicked around in the BIOS." She added, which was probably something to make him question her. How the hell could she know what that was? She was... blind. She'd never seen anything of the sort before.

How could she hope to navigate the OS?

"I... excuse me?" he asked.

"The BIOS? You... navigated the OS?" he asked.

"How?" he asked her.

It made no sense to him. She was blind. And his laptop wasn't designed for one that had no sight. How could she have fixed it and improved it like this?

"Please, help me understand." he then said further.

"How on earth could you have-" he started to ask, before they heard the doorbell.

"That's probably Leonard." he commented.

Lunet looked to the door before shrugging.

"I'll get it." She said simply before making her way, carefully, to the door and opened it a crack, it was only open so much before it was stopped because of the chain.

"Name?" She asked.

"Leonard Fenretti." Was the answer a couple of seconds later. When nothing moved, he continued.

"I ... I was asked here to help with a tech issue?" he asked. She snapped her fingers.

"Oh! All right. Hold on." She said after a second before closing the door. He heard the chain being slid out of the lock before the door was opened. She stepped back with it, to let him in.

Leo stepped inside, and waited until the door was closed.

"Oh, you must be Lunet." he said.

"Sorry, Leonard! She doesn't know you yet, I forgot!" Hall called to him.

"Perfectly all right!" Leo called back, before looking at Lunet.

"So, I guess this is our first time meeting." he chuckled.

"Just call me Leo." he told her.

Lunet smiled softly.

"Sorry about the inquiry. Had no means of knowing who you were otherwise." She admitted before heading back to where Hal was, figuring that Leo would follow, to which he did. She walked with a hand on the wall the entire time though.

"Your company is here." She said.

"Either of you want a drink?" She asked. "... 'cause I'm getting something. Can I grab anything for either of you while I'm there?" She asked.

"Some water would be nice." Hal replied.

"Leo?" he then addressed their guest.

"Ah, water too, please." Leo said.

Lunet nodded and left to get the drinks, leaving Leo and Hal alone.

"So what's the tech issue?" Leo asked him.

"....I... it's officially gone weird now." Hal responded after a fashion. He then proceeded to tell Leo what the problems had been, what was happening, and how the computer was behaving now.

"So there you have it. It seemed like the thing was finally busted, but now it's working better than it ever did. Better than when it was NEW." he said further, as Leo sat down and examined the machine.

"...it really is." he commented.

"This is working better than some of the new machines out on the market NOW." he realised.

Lunet returned with the drinks before chuckling lightly.

"Here you go." She said, handing both of them what they'd requested before stepping back.

'I'm heading up to my room." She then said. "I'll see you later." With that, she waved and heading off, a hand trailing the wall she was near as a guide.

The men watched her go in silence, before they went back to the computer.

About 30 minutes of examination later, Leo sighed.

"I can't explain it." he said.

"Lunet must have done something to it." he told him.

"How?" Hal asked. "She's blind. And that laptop is NOT blind-friendly." he reasoned.

"There's only one person that can answer that." Leo said.

Hal then sighed, before getting up and making his way to Lunet's room, knocking on the door.

When he knocked, Lunet answered the door after a few seconds.

"Hey, what's up?" She asked. She seemed to have a knowing tone to her voice though.

She knew what it was that he wanted her for, but she wasn't going to just outright say anything.... mostly because she couldn't answer it herself.

"Yeah sure." She said before stepping out of the room. She took his proffered hand to make sure she didn't trip or anything, and they made their way back to the room in question.

"...your father tells me you seem to have fixed his computer." Leo said.

"That's quite a feat." he commented. "For a number of reasons." he added.

"...care to explain how you did it?" he asked.
