Of course... I do give alot of art for free because I just am not making it anywhere and I want to draw and make people happy. But when they want a fully custom art with lots of details I just don't understand how they want for free...
Oh I hate it when people do that stuff... expecting you to give your expertise, time, etc. for free (it's one thing if you offer to do something; it's another to be expected). Do these people ask doctors for free surgery? No. Somehow though, it's ok to ask artists...
The F! That is a load of bs. As an artist your friends should know that you 1. spend time and energy on your art 2. also spend materials on it ( at least if its traditional art ) so that 3. It does quilify as any every job and hence should be paid for.
Ive had similar experiences on dA, but it is honestly many years sine I last met someone who was all " im your friend you do art for me for free "
I suspect that the guy have seen too many videos n youtube about people getting away with stuff like that, or using their disabilites as an apology for their shitty behaviour.

@Wildfire: We have one person who constantly caves to him. And she gets mad at us for setting boundaries. Like when I realized this person wasn't healthy to my well being, I chose to not speak to him anymore. She hounded me wanting reasons why I stopped liking him.
@TeaTales: It's not just us artists either. Like he expects our mechanic friends to help for free too. He thinks you need to basically starve yourself for other people's benefit.
To clarify though, he's Mormon and the free help is VERY big in their religion. To the point he has to go to a soup kitchen to eat.

@Another Movie Addict: Dude sounds like he has multiple issues going on, interacting with each other, complicating things... the asperger's, his religion, his porn addiction, his obvious lack of boundaries...

Sounds like the guy needs a hard straight look at reality. would he be getting food on his table if he expected farmers to not take anything for raising and slaughtering animals? or harvesting and selling their produce? I highly doubt it.
Ah just now registered the Mormon part. Then I partically understand. but only partically. I've grown up in a culture where its always been 'something for something' .. like I give you free eggs and fix your roof / gutter and you give me bread or flour. that kinda stuff. He cant expect to get everything free, that is not how the world works. even the soupkitchenhas to pay for something at some point, Im 100% sure. ( at least I know that the danish soup kitchns have to pay for their locations, gas, electricity and so on * speaking as one who was homeless * )

@vengeance: He says he's not technically Mormon, because that's the culture. Whereas Latter Day Saints is the religion. He just does a LOT of very Mormon things. His mom does want to get him settled with a girl though.
