@MoodyBats: I don’t know if it’s still a thing; but it used to be that on Gaia you could post real money prices in your art shop and people used to get commissions a lot on there. I don’t like most things about that site so I wouldn’t want to post there, but it might be worth it to have a shop if you like drawing avatars at all

@Lina: really? thank you.
I feel my anatomy is so...stiff.
But glad to hear people do not think that at all.

You can still do RLC for gaia as long as you do fake currency as well.
though they are a little picky cause you have to link to commission info their very weird if you actually
list the prices which is odd to me lmao.

But I do have a shop on Gaia but so far no RLC commissions.
I just get gaia currency commissions lol.

@Lina: i don't get many orders
with my art shops on avi sites.

So i just been doing prompt lists like pinktober and Huevember.

@MoodyBats: both of those prompts sound so cool!
I don’t get many orders either, but I do freebies when I have time. And I lowered my prices which I think helped

@Lina: I can't do freebies well at all.
Though i feel through the monthly prompts my art has progressed.
Or improved.
Though Pinktober i only did 10 days. i got sick of the color pink quite fast lol.

For prices i cannot lower mine much otherwise it feels like i put too much energy
with very little amount i get paid back.

@MoodyBats: itsso true about prices! But I think it can depend on the site too. Like some forums care more about art and the average price isn’t bad. But I was on one where they would complain if I had prices that were honestly like 1/4th of what they are here. Like, the whole community had no respect for artists. It was horrible!
Voltra seems to value art better at least.

@Lina: For me personally i think about how much I'd like to be paid
based on the amount of energy I put into each commission.
As I also have personal projects, studies to work on, etc.

And I can't do more than 1 art thing in a day.
I have to have separate days for each thing like a day for studies, a day for personal stuff and a day for commissions.
I also do not finish things within a day. and chores get in the way in my life so often cause *responsibilities*

@MoodyBats: I get that. It takes me 2 days to finish a commission usually. Like 6-8 hours total probably.
But if I tried to charge minimum wage it would be 140,000 volts each drawing. No way anyone would pay that. Where as right now I’m asking 10,000 so... 70 cents an hour. XD

@Lina: I never go by the actual rate of volts with minimum wage
cause im terrible at math.

So im just like "for this 10k this 20k lol.
It tends to make me weeks. sometimes months if it's more than a bust.
im not fast at all. and there is still a ton I struggle with.

How's everyone doing today?

@MoodyBats: well, never offer more than a bust for fake currency! Only offer what would take a reasonable time for you.

I struggle with a lot too; but I discovered other people don’t see the flaws in my art that I see. So I just started selling the art the way it is even if it has flaws. I can’t make everything perfect or every piece would take forever.

@Purpsy: I’m doing good. Not a fan of the changing weather though.
How are you?

@Purpsy: lol, I had on oldies at work like my dad listens to. He’s for real old!
I don’t mind “fall” but it’s this sudden snow and frost I don’t like. Excuse me! It’s too soon for you!

@Lina: I usually trade off witth my art.
Busts get very repetitive that they look the same so i trade off of what i offer.
but i never accept more than one half body or full body at the same time.
Like if someone orders a half body or full body you gotta wait to order a half or full body until i either finish the current
one or you gotta order a bust. cause it's taxing. I have been enjoying full bodies lately and drew a ton for pinktober.

i still am not super comfortable with my art too much.
Mostly the hands.
if i can improve them a lot more maybe i'd feel better about my work.
and hands i definitely am working on.
Though i also want to improve my color too.
so much to study lol.

@Lina: Tbh some music from back then are not bad and I like some of them. Maybe because my parents loves to blast their music since I was young and I've grown to appreciate them.

Fall seems to come back perfectly for me. It usually starts to get more chilly around this time.

@MoodyBats: there’s always room for improvement it feels like. Art is a never ending study.
I hate full body art because I never know what to do for the pose without looking up ideas. I’m the least creative at poses. >.<

@Purpsy: I really like some of my dad’s old music. My mom always listened to new music, even now she does. She’s more with the times than I am. XD
It’s especially funny because my dad keeps getting exponentially older. Like for every 1 year that passes he ages 3 years. So like he used to listen to 70s music and it’s like 40s now. He’s ridiculous. XD

@Lina: So true. With art you never really stop learning. But that's actually pretty awesome
as then you won't get bored. As there is so much to learn.

I have a pinterest board full of poses. half bodies are hard but i love to draw full bodies
and busts/portraits.
full bodies i love because...shoes. I love to draw shoes.
