"Yes." he replied.

"That would be best." he told her.

He then thought for a moment, and sighed.

"Best get Leonard's 'approval'." he said.

"Ie: a letter or a fake bill, showing I paid for her, and that Leonard is getting you to deliver her." he reasoned.

"If we're going to pull the wool over their eyes in terms of who is responsible for her advanced tech, we need to go all the way."

Lunet nodded.

"I'll get him to mana something over." She said before doing something on her tablet. It didn't take long before Hal realised what she was doing. Sending that message to Leo.

Hey! One thing we forgot that we need. You to write something. A bill or an order or something for Chloe. If we're going to make it seem like I had no hand in her for the moment, then we need to go all the way. Also, something to say that I've been tasked with delivery would be nice. Once she sent it, she set her tablet aside and looked to Hal agian.

"Done."

"Very well." Hal responded.

"All we need to do is wait-" he started to say, before her phone chimed. "...for his response." he added with a laugh.

Sure thing. the message said.

I'll have that done up and sent later tonight. the next message read.

"Odds are that'll be done up soon." Hal commented, before looking at Chloe.

"...this will be interesting, indeed..." he mumbled quietly.

Lunet paused before looking toward her phone.

"..... right, I am logged in on there, aren't I?" She asked the air quietly, knowing that she wouldn't get an answer.

Thanks. She sent back before sighing.

"Tomorrow will be ... eventufl, I'm sure."

"Yes. Yes, it will be." Hal replied, sighing once more.

-The Next Day-

Jake was silent as he looked through the newspaper.

"Mmhmm, mmhmm." he mumbled, before chuckling.

"Heh. Wonder if this guy knows how right he is, or if he's just a blithering idiot." he said under his breath.

He then sighed, and looked at the clock.

"Suppose I should be thinking about lunch soon... it IS 12:45..." he mumbled, shaking his head a little.

"Eh, I'll wait 'til 1." he finished with a shrug.

Just as he was about to call in the substitute so he could go and eat his lunch, the door opened and a couple of people walked in. One her her eyes hidden by some super dark shades, while the other was ... someone he'd never seen before.

"Hey Jake." The one with the shades said with a small smile and wave as she approached.

"wanna let me and Chloe here in? I'm delivering her to the Tech department as has been requested of me." She added, raking an envelope out of her messenger bag and handing it to him.

Jake raised his eyebrow when she said what she did.

"Uh... hey, Lunet." he greeted her, accepting the letter, and then looking at Chloe.

"....uhhhhhh..." he mumbled.

There was then a 'sst' sound that was heard, before he froze.

"....what the....?" he whispered.

"Woah, woah, hang on..." he said.

"...no, wait, what the HELL?" he finished, looking at what the letter said, wondering if it would provide answers.

"read what is in the envelope." She told him simply.

"Tha tway I don't have to tell you something that will already be explained."

"....ah." Jake said, having finished reading the letter by the time Lunet had said what she did.

"I see." he said further.

"Well, whatever." he muttered.

"Letter checks out, your mana checks out." he said.

"In you go." he finished, pushing the button to allow her entrance.

Lunet chuckled lightly.

"Come on, Chloe." She said after a moment, beckoning for the android to follow with her.

"See ya Jake. I'll see you on my way out." With a wave, she made her way into the building proper with Chloe, who hadn't said anything at all through any of that.

As they were walking, Lunet leading the way.

"Is this where I will be now?" Chloe asked as they walked. Lunet nodded.

"Precisely. You were created to help, and this is where you will be helping." The teen answered.

"All right then." Chloe answered

The walk started out uneventful. A few people walked by, but just gave quick, generic 'hellos', while some briefly looked at the unfamiliar one, before shrugging and continuing on their way.

However, that changed when a door they were getting close to suddenly opened, and Zeke stepped out.

"What in the name of-" he muttered.

He then looked right at Chloe.

RIGHT at her.

"...and what is this?" he asked.

"What in the name of the realms IS it?"

"Pleasure to make your acquaintance." She added.

"She's here to help." Lunet answered.

"I'm delivering her as per Leo's directions." She added after a moment.

"Okay." he replied.

"Really doesn't answer my question, though." he said.

"WHAT is it?" he asked Lunet.

"Because I am getting some damn weird static in terms of my 'life-sensors'." he muttered.

"Something just ain't sitting right."

"We're on our way to the tech department, as she was built to help with the whole cyber security stuff going on." She added before pausing and sticking her hands into her pockets.

Zeke just narrowed his eyes as Lunet said all she did.

"...." he was silent, almost unblinking.

"Ngh." he grunted.

"This thing doesn't sit right with me." he told her.

"I... it's just... this feeling is... damn it." he went on, shaking his head.

"My DNA is screaming at me." he continued.

As he did, he just clenched his fists, before taking a few deep breaths, in an attempt to calm himself down.

"If I may inquire... why?" Chloe asked, her voice curious.

"Do you have such a reaction with any other technological devices such as a computer, or a phone?" It wasn't hard to tell that she was honestly just wanting to know, not sure as to what she was supposed to make of that, specifically.

Zeke just sighed.

"Ugh." he grunted.

"It's just weird, okay?" he asked.

"You look human, but you're not." he said.

"It's... it's weird! It's unnatural!" he went on, before pausing.

"...ok, scratch that last one. I'M unnatural.' he muttered.

"But... just... my DNA can't deal with this. Half of it, anyway."

"As is Revvie." Lunet commented, while Chloe looked to Zeke with an almost puzzled expression. After a few seconds, she nodded.

"Ah. Right. You must be the nephilim that is employed here." Chloe said after a moment.

"I assure you, I am no more unnatural than you or the zombie." She then added.

"If I am a discomfort to be around or what-have-you, then please, by all means, keep your distance. I will not be offended if such a thing were to happen."

".........." Zeke was silent for a moment, almost stunned.

He opened his mouth to say something, but stopped, closed it, and thought.

"You know what? That's a good point." he said.

"Makes sense, the more I think of it." he went on.

"Sorry for the trouble." he apologised to them.

"Have a good day, and welcome to the Unit." he finished, before just returning to the room he'd been in, shutting the door behind him.

After he was gone, Lunet shrugged.

"Come on Chloe, let's get you to the tech deparment." She said before heading off, the android following her.

"This building is rather large." Chloe commented as they were walking. Lunet just chuckled.

"It must be at least somewhat difficult for you to navigate, Miss." She added, Lunet sighed.

"It can be." The teen replied.

"But I've learned my way around rather well. Plus the fact that everyone here is always willing to help out - even if it's not what I want sometimes." She added, muttering the last bit under her rbeath.

"Ah. That is most certainly good to know." Was all Chloe said.
