"That makes sense." he said.

"Thank you." he said to her.

"Lunet is certainly gifted in coding, I'll say THAT much." Leo commented.

"That means a lot, coming from you." Hal told him in response.

"Heh." Leo chuckled.

"But yeah, she's really outdone herself with Chloe here." he added, gesturing to the new addition.

"Is my creation really such an achievement?" Chloe asked, her voice curious.

"A mother creating her child within is an much of one as well, is it not?" She then asked.

"For some, it is." Lunet answered.

"But that's natural. One could argue that you aren't." She finished with as she stepped up to where Hal was.

"here, take a look." With that, she handed him her tablet - the site already loaded.

Hal accepted the tablet, and started to navigate.

And was silent for almost 5 minutes.

"My word..." he said.

"This is... incredible." he commented.

"The site is much more fluid and comprehensive... and it's easy to see where everything is... it loads MUCH better..." he went on.

"I didn't realise the site could have been THIS good." he then said, before pausing.

"...what has my team been doing all this time...?" he suddenly wondered aloud, suspicion and irritation in his tone.

"That, I can't answer." Lunet answered with a sigh.

"All I know is that I was able to do that. Granted, took about a month, and I think some of it is still needing to be properly done to work with your servers and the like." She added.

"It is possible you have some lazy employees, though." Chloe then commented. "If you would like, while I am there, I can try and keep an eye on everything. Perhaps a touch better than there is now?"

"Yes, that would be greatly appreciated." he told her.

He then sighed, and handed the tablet back to Lunet.

"Thank you." he said.

"And Leonard, you may go." he told Leo.

"All right." Leo responded.

"Thank you." he said further.

"Lunet, I'll talk to you later." he then said to Lunet.

"thanks for your help, Leo." Lunet said before pausing.

"The promised amount will be in your paypal tonight." She then said. "and by that, I mean..." she spoke as she turned on her tablet and navigating through an app.

"Done.' She said a few seconds before his phone beeped to alert him to a notice. When he looked, he saw what she'd promised, even if he hadn't been serious.

"Anyway, you get home. I'm sure Nakia and Menefer miss you."

Leo just rolled his eyes.

"I told her she didn't have to pay me-" he said to Hal, who just cut him off.

"I know." Hal responded.

"It's just how she is." he added.

Leo then sighed.

"Farewell for now, then." he said.

With that, he disappeared in a swirl of sand, and Hal looked at Lunet once more.

"You are a brilliant troublemaker." he told her.

"She has the money." Chloe commented, causing Lunet to pause.

".... Right, I did sign into my paypal through you as a test, didn't it?" The teen asked.

"Yes Miss, you did. Would you like me to sign you out now?" Chloe asked. Before Lunet could answer, Hal interjected.

"One moment." Hal said.

"Money? Paypal?" he asked.

"I know you, Lunet." he said to his daughter.

"Odds are what you paid Leonard was no small amount." he commented.

"Where have you been getting money?" he asked her.

"And how much do you HAVE?" he asked further.

"Because, while I give you an allowance, there's no way you saved up enough to pay for the components that you used to make Chloe." he reasoned.

Lunet sighed lightly. It was Chloe that answered though.

"Miss has frequently accepted coding commissions from people online." The android answered.

"and her balance currently sits at 3875.16 Pound Sterling." She added, which caused Lunet to sigh, again.

"Miss also has a weekly income of about 1500 poun---" Chloe continued, before being cut off.

". . . . Chloe. Log out of my paypal. Now." Lunet ordered.

"Of course, Miss. It is done." Chloe answered a few seconds later.

Hal just crossed his arms over his chest, and laughed.

"Really!" he exclaimed.

"Already, I'm liking Chloe more and more!" he declared.

"But really. 1500 pounds a week?" he asked.

"What in the name of everything are you thinking, wanting to work for me?" he then asked her.

"You're clearly making more than I would pay. FAR more." he commented.

"You'd be downgrading to work in the Unit. Slumming it!" he added with another laugh.

Lunet sighed again.

". . . The freelance coding stuff I've been doing is coming to an end in a few weeks." She told him honestly.

"The project I've been part of is nearing its conclusion. And it was merely something to do anyway." She added before hsrugging.

"Beyond that, honestly? It'd be good for a possible resume in the future to work for you, and I want to actually feel useful." She admitted after a moment.

"I'm blind. People push me aside because of that, and I know that. Maybe not you, maybe not Leo, but... I know people don't give me credit because I was unlucky enough to be blind from birth. I just... want to prove I'm capable, more than anyone would expect."

"....." Hal was silent for a moment, before leaning in close and giving her a hug.

"Lunet..." he said.

"I know. It's not fair, is it?" he asked rhetorically.

"But don't feel you need to work for me because you feel like nobody else will accept you." he told her.

"If you prove yourself, the Unit will happily employ you." he then said further.

"But I'm sure you'll be able to find your way, even if you don't work for the Unit." he then assured her.

"And Lunet? Time and time again, you prove just how gifted and talented you are." he added.

Lunet didn't say anything before returning the embrace.

"I.." She started before sighing, again.

'I don't know... I hope that maybe one day someone will treat me without pity, ubut..." She paused.

"It's hwy I do so much online. People odn't know I'm blind there. You can't tell by how I type, as I don't use speech to text or anything with my visor." She added. "It's... the only place I don't really have to worry about dealing with pity."

Again, Hal was silent for a moment.

"...I'm sorry..." he then said quietly.

"My power may seem endless at times, but it has its limits." he said. "And this is one of them." he continued.

"I cannot do anything about the prejudices in the hearts of humans." he lamented, holding his daughter close.

It was one of the things that he was reminded of every so often. Lunet was doing well for herself, she had a good life, she had friends and family, she was helped to overcome her visual challenges... but there would be people in this world that wouldn't be able to see past the visor, and judge her solely based on the fact that she required it to see.

"It's ironic." he said.

"The truly blind ones, are the ones that see your visor... but that is ALL that they see."

Lunet was silent with as he said what he did, not knowing what it was that she should say there. She knew he was right, and knew that there was nothing she could do.

But he also knew, if not before then definitely not, that she felt she had to try and prove herself. She knew that she couldn't, that she shouldn't, feel like she had to prove herself to everyone, but she really did hate the amount of pity that she got just because she was blind. She could understand it, but that did not mean she liked it - at all.

"I know... I just hate it." was all she said in regards to that, as she didn't really know what else to say that wouldn't be repetitious.

"I'm not fond of it either." Hal responded.

There was then silence for another moment, before the embrace was broken.

"Bring Chloe to the Unit tomorrow." he restated.

"We'll get her set up there, and make sure she had somewhere to go for the night and such." he continued.

He then paused, and thought for a moment.

"Not sure if you want your personal info, such as your paypal, on her when she's working for the Unit." he then said.

"So I'll leave you to tweak and finetune that sort of thing tonight."

"She's already logged out of my paypal." Lunet commented.

"You heard me tell her to do that." She added. "regardless, I'll do a cookie reset, so that none of the logins are still there."

"Beyond that, yeah. I'll bring her around tomorrow."

"Afternoon." Hal confirmed.

"Doesn't matter WHEN in the afternoon, so long as it's after 12:30." he said.

"I'll make sure-" he then started to say, before smirking.

"No. I won't." he said.

"I was about to say I'll make sure Jake is expecting you and Chloe." he told her.

"But he knows you. And it'll be funnier if you surprise him with Chloe." he reasoned with a chuckle.

"Oh, he'll be miffed at me for a bit, but it shall be worth it."
