Forums Vibrance Day Event 2020 From me with love
@Wildfire: Brother and I are okay. We haven't had any fights. But mom, on the other hand...
@DevilkinBoi: Sounds like mom is stressed. Is there something you can do to help her out, maybe?
@Wildfire: Not really. She doesn't know how to relax, and since she's a workaholic, she hates being stuck at home with nothing productive to do. And the fact that she isn't sleeping well doesn't help matters either.
@Wildfire: yesss I would love a full day off but I’m not sure I want to take one tbh. I need the income and I do have trips coming up they hopefully aren’t canceled by the pandemic. Once is in later June...and the other is in the fall
@DevilkinBoi: Sleeping is not easy these days - especially for those who are the "constant do-ers". Can you get her to relax or do some chores that she normally does? Or even suggest a different project that would keep her distracted and busy?
@Bonnie: I understand. I'm hoping we start getting back to normal soon. This is wearing on all of us and frankly, I think our approach to containing things could be less heavy-handed - especially now that we have more information about the bug and should be better prepared to deal with consequences

@Wildfire: absolutely think we can ease into normalcy I just don’t think we should just jump into it. I do not mind things remaining closed a bit longer but maybe mid-May we can see more activity
@Wildfire: She doesn't know how to relax. It's been a problem for years. And she ignores suggestions.
@Bonnie: I agree. It seems, though, that many seem to be thinking about the "all or nothing" approach, and I'm not sure that's wise for a number of reasons.
@DevilkinBoi: "Type A" all the way, huh? That's unfortunate :(
@DevilkinBoi: "Type A" all the way, huh? That's unfortunate :(
@Wildfire: Yup. She's sorta relaxing with Netflix, but even that has led to fights between them. We have the basic plan, so only one stream at a time. She's got it a bit under control now, but before, she'd be watching from 11am to 1am, leaving my brother no chance to watch his shows.
@Wildfire: oh no. It’s not, not at all. Especially when the country’s leader is completely reckless and over optimistic....
@DevilkinBoi: It sounds like she's REALLY stressed and just trying to distract herself. Are there any other options for your brother, perhaps - finding something else on youtube or another service he can stream on his phone or computer while giving mom the main screen?
@Bonnie: (I don't like the man and I didn't vote for him, but...) remember, he can not be an expert in everything and relies on his "specialists" for information. I think the media really blows some of what he says out of proportion... and yes, he does seem to say some pretty bone-headed things. Concerning our next steps as a country (or as a world), though, I do think we need to be putting together a plan to go forward. Hopefully one that keeps people safe without stomping all over some of our basic rights and freedoms.

@Wildfire: He doesn't care for YouTube and we have no other services.
@Wildfire: He either plays FFXIV all day, which he's been doing since September(he's unemployed), or he's watching Netflix when mom isn't. Doesn't do much else.
@Wildfire: absolutely. I honestly have no qualms except he speaks before he thinks. He honestly, excuse my frankness, is just an idiot but he hasn’t done irreparable damage to the country as everyone would have you believe. I just really wish he’d think sometimes.
bloop
@Bonnie: Yes, exactly. In some ways, his "roughness" is a refreshing change from all the overly-polished politicians we're used to, but yeah... he definitely needs a filter (at least)!!
@Wildfire: Yup.
Lucifer's Pet
ANYway ... /probably killed the thread with politics/ ... what else is going on guys?
I'm trying to find something else to do.

@DevilkinBoi: So can you divert or distract him with other things??
