I have not ever done a redraw of something older... I'm a bit scared to, lol. Not sure my improvement is all that much to show off.

i do have this but it's like, super obviously stagnated

oh heck, looking through the recent art here, you folks are so good
Posted in Moody's Bat Cave Posted 5 years ago
i too got clip on sale haha

if we're talking about pixel art, Aseprite is phenominal and super cheap. It goes on sale pretty regularly too.

i haven't used indesign since college but i do not miss it ;_;

at the same time it would probably be really helpful, i've done some lil fan art zines and i just put it all together by hand. but also it costs money so weh

@pachi: that makes me feel better, i thought maybe i was messing something up lol

but if it's consistently an issue with surface pros then ;__; rip

I use Clip Studio Paint, but I reaaally miss Paint Tool SAI. It does not seem to work on my Surface Pro so I haven't been able to use it in ages.

@keturah: in the US at least, yeah, it's Memorial Day on Monday :o quite likely why you have a three day weekend, unless you just got super lucky with scheduling. (before this job i aaalways worked memorial day lol)

@moodybats: ooh looking good so far!!
Posted in Moody's Bat Cave Posted 5 years ago
@bearnas tyr: it's not INHERENTLY bad to sleep that way.. but my wrist was really cramping up. i wore a brace to train myself to stop it lol

@keturah: try to take it easy!! i know there's not a lot to do with the whole quarantine thing but chillaxing and icing it while enjoying some good food should set the memorial day weekend mood a bit :3

and yeah it really could just be a one-off thing, especially if you're really good about stretching and stuff usually.
Posted in Moody's Bat Cave Posted 5 years ago
@keturah: i'd be super careful doing stretches if it's already strained, especially if you're getting pangs of pain like that ;-;

i've been mostly fine since that period in college though, but i also draw significantly less now... :vanora_sweat: but i also don't let myself sleep like that anymore and take aleve at the hint of any issues

EDIT WHOA THIS WAS PAGES AGO, OOPS

re: wrist strain:
I have, actually, back in college (also when i was drawing more). I was having a lot of anxiety and I was sleeping all curled up with my wrist bent up against my chin which was really comfy at the time, but super painful in the morning. It'd last days. So, I started sleeping with a brace on so i couldn't bend it that way and over time it healed and I was generally pretty careful to take breaks if the pain got worse.

Don't push yourself too hard!! If you're able, I also personally recommend Aleve/naproxen sodium as it's an anti-inflammatory and helps reduce any swelling. Are you doing any wrist stretches?

@amber lynne: an underweight child is even tougher too, since most of the tutorials and things talk about baby fat and stuff haha

i think you did pretty good here though, the facial proportions are quite childlike
Posted in OC Busts | 35/73+ Done Posted 5 years ago
@amber lynne: it is such a whole different mindset, going against like everything else you've learned in my experience lol
Posted in OC Busts | 35/73+ Done Posted 5 years ago
@amber lynne: heck yeah, lookin good :O

ahhh maybe that's why, most of my circles aren't into that sort of thing - i'm not knocking it by any means!! but that makes sense now

i'll give it a peek soon but i can't make any promises that i'll stick with it :vanora_sweat:
