[ My ex is from the Virgin islands, specifically St. Thomas, and he once told me a story from when he was in elementary school. Where his teacher was going to have everyone eat raw plantains. He told her that would be bad and would make everyone sick. She didn't believe him, and he was the only person not sick the next day. ]
