@ladykazumi: Yeah, we took in a kitty like that, but she had kidney disease and when she died, I cried for a week

@Queen of Trash: That was really nice of her to knit for you

@Tsundererra: I either usually knit lace shawls, or I knit tiny animals and sweaters for dolls

This is one I made for a Secret Santa exchange this year

@Queen of Trash: my friend also knits, but she has a huge stash of yarn, and I've knit a ton of berets, so (with my permission) she gave me some of her yarn and asked for a beret for christmas

@Tsundererra: yeah, I've been knitting waaaaay longer than doing ceramics. I found that watching videos helped me when I was starting out, since it's harder to learn to knit from books when it's all fairly new to you

@Queen of Trash: I'm working on finishing knitting a hat for a friend - i'm so close to being done, and I'm ready to work on something else

@ladykazumi: I love rescued strays. I find a lot of them are so loving

Hello, what's up?
Posted in Get In the Solstice Spirit: Community Goals Posted 5 years ago
Yeah, bulldogs and the short snouted dogs are adorable, but it's not worth the health issues, and it's something we humans have control over

@koneko: have a good time

Yeah, I can understand why someone would buy an animal from a breeder, but I also think that more education will help people understand why they might be just as happy getting a pet from a shelter

Yeah, sadly a lot of people think it's okay to mistreat animals just to make a lot of money

I do think sphynx cats are super cute, but I can't justify paying for someone to create more kittens in the world when there are so many kittens that shelters can't even care for, since they are so high maintenance and shelters have limited resources

There are still strays here, but a lot of people are willing to adopt from the shelter rather than just buy breeder animals, so it makes me feel less bad that I can't just take home all of the older pets at the shelter

Where I live, they have to get animals from shelters in california because people keep adopting all of the pets, so that makes me happy

Its true that they're more likely to have health issues, and I understand why that's a barrier to adoption
