He slowly put out his hands to feel the feathers. He was amazed at how soft they were. His eyes lit up as he stroked the feathers. He wished he had wings like that but he was too afraid to say so.

He went silent. "No...no i didnt. I saw the district from my bedroom or music room windows" He said stiffly. "I never saw much. My mother didnt let me do...anything other than my studies and piano"

"Already ahead of you" he said smiling.

He had already gotten stuff for pudding cake.

He didnt get any boxed mix. Every thing he got was either fresh or ingredients.

He planned to make a good dinner that had a lot of work.

"Hope the kitchen doesnt get too hot" he joked. when had he last made a joke like that

"I was thinking rice pilaf with a salad" he said.

He kept going down the aisles picking up this and that. mostly spices but some things for his sides too.

He was smiling again. His step was light once more.

He was happy, if only for a small time.

He thought about it. He closed his eyes and places his hand on the glass.

Then he saw it. The same type of fish ryker had caught the first day they were together.

He grinned and got several fillets of it and smiled.

Now he just needed stuff to go with it.

Valern slowly walked to the doorway. He hadnt been outside since he'd been rescued and he looked as scared as he felt. But he wanted to touch those soft looking wings. They really amazed Valern.

Eke looked at him and pulled Ryker into a full tight hug resting his face into his big brother.

"Im sorry...i think i just need...i need to go on a trip like we used to travel. maybe then ill stop being such a downer" he said his voice muffled.

He grumbled something unintelligable then let go.

He started walking around the store pushing the cart looking fro what he wanted to make for dinner.

"No...i dont want to be alone." he said shutting the door.

"I dont like being alone with my thoughts. They get too dark." he added walking inside.

"I miss being...well im not sure how to describe it i just feel like i used to...care less..."

Valern had watched him outside the window. His eyes widened and he placed a thin hand on the glass. He had never seen anything like it. He was amazed and temporarily forgot his fear of people.
