So, for my work I have to keep a current CPR and basic life support certification and my job schedules classes each year so we can get it cheap. Also because finding a CPR/BLS class or instructor for healthcare professionals by yourself is a massive chore here.

Today was one of the classes. The instructor was nice enough, has been in the business for years, etc. We had a few new faces show up some of which of had never gotten their certification before, no big deal we'll just have to go through a slightly longer class. EXCEPT WE DIDN'T. He had us all go up and practice CPR for 15 compressions on a manikin to make sure we compressed down to the correct depth at the correct rate, then had us watch a video for 2 hours. The video was long-winded and boring, the type of video you don't remember any information from because it's just so bland. After the video, he handed us a written test and then we completed the test together as a group, so everyone passed the class and was given certification. Now, I've done CPR several times at this point and honestly, once you've done it for real a couple times that's pretty much all you need. Having to get re-certified every 2 years is just to keep us up to date on the random changes they make to how you perform rescue breaths or whatever. But there were new people there! Who had never done it! And they all went up to that manikin and pressed down with so little effort, their elbows were bent, their timing was completely off, one of them was just continuously pressing down and not letting the chest recoil at all... And the instructor was OK with all this!! I cringe at the thought of ever having to perform CPR with one of those people, it will be more of a nightmare than it already is.

I'm just so mad about it!! And I had to tell someone about it!!

I'm racking my brain trying to think of a website/community that's recently had something bad happen and I am drawing a blank. So, I'll just echo Beauty up there.

UGH, that sucks! I get cramping but it's never to the point that some midol and a heating pad won't usually fix it. I feel so bad for those of you who get it worse. I will say that the saving grace for me during real bad cycles is one of those little TENS units. I'm vain, so I got a really cute little bear shaped one with paw shaped pads to stick on my belly, but there's tons of cheaper ones available. It's really helped.

What kind of dog is he? My husband had a dog named Loki once and that dog was a 30 lbs mop. Everytime we gave him a bath he'd wash the floor for us. Grooming was a must for that dog.

I’m sooooo excited for a Halloween event. It’s my favorite holiday and fall is my favorite time of year. I leave my indoor decorations up all year round. BRING ON THE SPOOKIES.

It’s so cute!! I think my favorite thing about it is the little claws and the fuzzy looking ears, I love them! This doodle has a lot of personality.

It’s hard to come up with something to say that would actually make you feel any better. You’re in an awful situation, everything sucks. And, if I’m being completely honest, it’s going to get worse for a little while before it gets better. But you’ve done so well with the hand you’ve been dealt. I know it doesn’t feel like you’ve done well, but just keep in mind you’ve done the absolute best you could in these situations and you’re still plugging along. Sometimes the best you can do is simply exist and that’s perfectly ok.

I cannot stress this enough, you really need to start taking care of you and to focus on yourself for a little bit. It doesn’t need to be entire days of focusing on yourself, it can be little bits and pieces. Chemo can take several minutes to hours to complete, maybe during that time you can do something for yourself such as read a book you’ve been meaning to read, meditate, write, draw, or anything you personally find relaxing. Maybe take a longer shower or bath and just soak for a little while. This won’t take care of the underlying problems but it may offer you a little respite when you need it the most.

I’m not the best at giving advice or guidance or even comforting words sometimes, but I am pretty darn good at listening. In my line of work I have dealt with a lot of loss and grief and maybe I can listen when you need someone to rant to or grieve with. I don’t have a lot going on with my life right now, I’m free most days of the week, so you won’t be bothering or interrupting me if you take me up on my offer. But feel free to PM me.

I loooved The Dark Crystal as a kid. I’ve been using this username since well before the new series. My favorite character is obvious! Although, I guess it’s "characters" cause there’s a bunch of fizzgigs and I love them all. When the new series came out, I binged the whole thing in one sitting... not my proudest moment but I have no regrets.

Idk about the clans, I don’t know if I’d fit into any of them? But if I had to pick, it’d be either Grottan or the Dousan clan.

I used to watch The Brave Little Toaster like 4 times a day as a kid. The air conditioner always freaked me the heck out.

The job market is definitely pretty bad down here.. I'm envious you got away! I think I'll end up moving somewhere up north when I'm done screwin' around down here. I imagine y'all get snow during the winter, how do you like it?

Trust me, I'd rather be in Florida too. In fact, I visit Florida quite a lot, haha. I've got friends in Pensacola and I drive to see them several times a year. Good to know I'm not the only one suffering in the south though!
