@Totalanimefan: Please don't worry! And yeah, I kind of have! All cancer treatments have improved by leaps and bounds over the past few decades, which is great. But because my particular type of cancer is so rare that the statistics are lacking. Most statistics said I had a 20% chance of living five years. But I'm over halfway there now so 🤪

But I have some other Stage IV friends with various types of cancer who have had it for over ten years, so that's incredible.

@kiwi: Oh that's a great shout, thank you! I didn't want to be too much of a bother, but hopefully they won't mind!

@CooperationIsKey: It's okay, life happens. I have a problem where I feel like it's no big deal to mention my cancer but I forget that other people may not be comfortable with that. I should probably mention it in my profile or something. 🫣

@Glume: I'm a super big true crime fan, but never have I found a serial killer attractive. The knowledge of what they did to people makes them so disgusting— I really can't understand how anyone can hear the horrible things a REAL LIFE human did and not only forgive them, but glorify them. This is not a hot fictional grey character!

@Totalanimefan: Don't worry about it! I'm only able to sort of keep up with conversations because of the @ function and notifications, haha.

I was diagnosed de novo Stage IV (which means by the time the found it, it was already at Stage IV) early July, 2019. The type of cancer I have isn't detectable until Stage III or IV and it's super aggressive, so that was scary. But now it's been over three years and I'm still going strong! ᕦ( ᐛ )ᕤ

@kiwi: Omg this is so exciting. I'm trying to get my email verification to work (been struggling since I joined 😣) but hopefully I'll be able to accept soon! Thank you~

I hope this is okay to post here, but I'm struggling to verify my account. The email listed on my account is correct and I've requested a new confirmation email several times. I've dug through the inbox, junk, spam, and clutter and can't find a single email from Voltra. 😭 Any advice?

@Vyctor

Day 14: Scaly AND fluffy!

As for coloring, I think he was green, gold, and grey.

I loveeee horror movies. I often times don't cheer for anyone, perse, but sometimes it's fun seeing the previously tortured character go beserk. And sometimes I want people to get out safely. As long as someone isn't going on about how "hot" actual serial killers are (Bundy, Dahmer, etc), I just try to have a good time.

@Totalanimefan: I'm actually super open and comfortable talking about basically my entire experience as a cancer patient. I've been able to help others through that, so that always feels good. But yeah, cancer is a bitch that hopefully we'll exterminate sooner rather than later. Thinking about working at Nordstrom's though... Could be a nice time or an absolute train wreck having to appease rich people, lmao.

@CooperationIsKey: It is! And I don't fly all the time, but I'm lucky enough to have parents who can help support me, so I do get to go visit friends who live far away. But keeping up with all the medicine is definitely a task for anyone who takes the number of meds I imagine we both use.

@Totalanimefan: Oop, yeah, I guess I forgot to mention that. 😅 I'm so used to having cancer be such a large part of my life I forget not everyone knows. I was diagnosed with Stage IV inflammatory breast cancer (super rare type) in July 2019. It spread to my brain in autumn 2020. But I've gotten better, sort of. Once you're diagnosed with Stage IV it's incurable, but mine is more chronic than terminal at the moment.

@Totalanimefan: they did all that for what's technically a temporary job?? That's wild. But I don't mind answering. I've actually been disabled due to cancer for a couple years, but before that I worked as a probation officer (ick) and then a mental healthcare case worked. I also had internships with legal firms when I was in law school, but that also ended because of cancer.

@CooperationIsKey: Omg no I have those kind of pill boxes too! 💀 I have... Three meds for mental health, then the rest are chemos, thyroid stuff, anti-Alzheimer's, or symptom management. It all adds up to almost an extra bag when I fly, but fortunately I can't be charged cuz it's all medical. ;D

@sunny: Yeah it was nice hearing good news. It will probably come back as real eventually but I'm enjoying the time I have without it.

@CooperationIsKey: Oof, I know all about those too tired days. I think every illness and medicine I take, aside from maybe two, has a side effect of fatigue. Also I wish you all best with your doctor. I've done the walk of shame before after not properly taking meds for a bit. >.< I have to stay on most of my meds to continue existing, so I've gotten better at taking them, lol. Have you been having a hard time lately without them?

@Totalanimefan: Which is totally ridiculous! How can you know they're way of doing things unless they train you?? Oh well. If they're like that at the start, probably wouldn't have been a nice job. Although now days a lot of us have to take what we can get...

‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ✫ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙

@Totalanimefan: I feel like I may be butting in here, but as someone who has worked for the government (and been turned down after doing other interviews for other government jobs), I understand the struggle. Sometimes it's just a regular interview, and sometimes they want you to know how to do everything before you've even gotten a job offer.

@CooperationIsKey: Haha yeah now I'm craving the chicken of the bayou, lol.

I hope everyone is doing well! I had a meeting with an oncology orthopedic surgeon today and they said that the bone necrosis scare was just a scare and they're not worried about anything since I'm not having pain. Yay!
