@Lith: gel is polish that you use a UV light to set so that they're harder to chip/take off and are on your actual nails only; acrylics or powder are when they glue the fake nail on the tip and cut it to the length you want and then use a powder over that to make the nail even/look "real"-ish and you can put polish on those
