Random tip, in lieu of a heating pad you can use uncooked rice or corn in a cloth bag. Pop it in the microwave a minute or so at a time until warm (be careful not to overheat it or burn it or burn you).

@Bean: I know it's hard not to, but it doesn't help to compare yourself to other artists. There will always be people better, but there are also people who are worse. What matters is your own journey. It is, however, perfectly well to be inspired by other artists!

Honestly style is something that is supposed to change over time as you grow and improve, so there's nothing to be ashamed of there.

I also like to go back to my old deviantart account every once in a while and look at how much I've improved over time. It's easy to forget.
