@MoodyBats: Try to recreate some paintings done by classical artists in different lighting. Try to study their work. Usually skin is really hard to do because it really all depends on your environment and light source. I don't think there is any easy way around it, you need decide on your environment and lighting first and then tweak until it looks right. References help alot if you can find them. I tend to look through the atlas of beauty for skin color references. It has really high res images and women from all different ethnicities as well. The portraits rarely have colorful light sources but you can practice what skin looks like under white or natural light. Hope this helps

@Millet: That is an amazing story! I like that you warned that the bat would be a casualty beforehand so I could psych myself for it. If you hadn't I would have been weeping by the end of it haha.

For me it was a little blue teddy bear, I would make a beeline for it everytime it was playtime (I was raised in a communal dorm) One day another girl wanted it and said it was rightfully hers because she was older. We played tug of war for abit and then I let the teddy go all of a sudden. She fell over, cut her lip and we were both put in time out. I was so shocked because that was probably the first time I caused someone to bleed. I did not like it at all. And thats the story of how I learned that I was a lover not a fighter

@CrystalCurator: Aww thanks, I entered the pirate costume contest so thats why I look like this. I look forward to seeing more of your work. You should definitely open a shop of your own. Lots of people are willing to pay for art around here. :vanora_smile:
